Troubled Dreams

Close you eyes
And fall to dream
Things are not as
Bad as they seem.

In your own bed
Is where you sleep.
As your mind makes twists
And turns and leaps.

Sometimes in this state of haziness
Your sub-mind brings to you
People and places, strange things,
Present love and family too.

And sometimes when your feeling low
Your dream turns into nightmare
Scaring you to the core of your being
You wake with a scream, clutching for air.

You wake in the morning
With all these thoughts in your head.
It makes you wonder if in the future
Will you always be afraid to go to bed?
