THIS DAY
Dear Melissa,
When you asked me to be a part
Of one of the most important days of you life,
I was honoured and to this day I still am.
It means so much to me that you want me to be involved.
Every exhibition we go to makes the picture clearer,
Every time you and Daniel speak about it,
It reinforces how wonderful your day will be.
Since then I have gone over your wedding day a million times in my head.
I can see myself helping you into your gown.
Your Mum nervously putting on your veil, so as not to mess your hair,
As Kim, Jess and Leah fuss with the skirt of your dress.
A smile never leaving your lips for a moment.
I can see Daniel�s Mother helping him on with his jacket,
His Dad standing proudly by.
All the boys waiting around fidgeting with their suits
Waiting for the ride to the chapel.
I see you getting out of the car,
Trying not to cry at the terrifying beauty of the day.
I look at you with pride,
For you are my best friend the bride.
I send the girls one by one on their way,
They are all so pretty in purple.
And then I look at you and smile,
Telling you that everything will be just perfect.
I make my way down the aisle
To see Dan looking for you behind me.
His eyes full of happiness and love.
He plays with his collar in nervous expectation.
Then I hear the music and you make your way to the door.
A tear in your Dad�s eye as hangs on so proud he looks like he could burst.
I can see him thinking of how his little girl is all grown up
As he walks you towards your new life as Mrs Daniel Jewell.
Your family gives your hand in marriage to the man that won your heart.
You both wear a smile that can�t disguise the look of love in your eyes.
You take your vows, he takes your hand and places a symbol of eternity on your finger
You share a kiss as man and wife, the start of forever.

and all the wonderful events your future holds.
