| Where To Start get out there and buy something cheap!. Rover Ranchers (Pitcure below left) are great cheap buys and reasonable strong gearboxs depending on the engine size anywhere from $100 and up depending on whats wrong with them. But there are other brand mowers out there that are cheap too. I've chosen the rover rancher for this subject. So now i'm assuming youve brought your mower. You can race standard "slow rac'n" but the blades have to be disconected for saftey reasons. So far it cost you the mower and the entry cost to race. SPEED FREAKS, as cheap as possible cost = mower + pulleys+ belt + one brake lever = not much dollar$. (Pitcured bottom right is a example minus the blue printed engine and gearbox mods). Step one: first thing is to remove the mower deck. Why? saftey and also weight. Step 2: fit different pulleys and fit new size belt. Step 3: fit brake lever to steering wheel ( this is for the exelerator cable to connect too ) that way you can have two hand on the steering wheel. Belive me you will need both hands. gear change can be savage so practice heaps on the gear change as the original gearboxs break easy if given a hard time. |
