A Weekend to Remember
by Ellem
Everyone looks forward to Fridays and the coming weekend for various reasons. Personally, Fridays mean anticipating the coming two (2) days of No Work and All Play. Weekend doesn't necessarily entail catching up on lost sleep though. Here's a list of activities - which is not necessarily arranged by any special order - that would surely make your weekends a fond memory...
Touch Base. Pick up the phone and contact everyone you haven't been able to chat with for a long time. Even when you have nothing brilliant to say, a simple "Hello, how are you?" or "I missed talking to you" would be enough.
Sleep and Time It. During weekdays, you stick to a schedule and you don't have the luxury to catch as much Z's as you need. So most Weekends you might find yourself napping all the time.Thankfully, as we grow older, our need for sleep decreases. But how about putting a little twist into your doze time? Just invite some buddies for a Snoozing Competition. Whoever gets as much forty winks in two days wins.   But hey, if you have nothing better to do and just want to vege-out or lay around during weekends, no one is stopping you.

Read. Whatever you can get your hands on: books, magazines, newspapers (archives or current edition, it doesn't matter).

Have A Video Marathon At Home. Its up to you if you want to wing this solo or invite some friends to enjoy all your vid collection.

Pig Out! And I mean Pig Out! Eat everything and damn the consequences such as rising levels of cholesterol, blood sugar, expanding waistline and what have you. Of course, you have the option of making up for it for the next 5 days of the week.

Travel. Visit places you havent seen and get some culture. And if youre up for it, do as the Romans do.

Shop (or Window Shop) Till You Drop. Do whichever is applicable. You might groan afterwards from achy feet but hey, roaming around malls is also a great exercise.
Be A Kid Again. Throw out all the worries of being an adult for two days and live the life of a kid again. One activity is by fooling around with other kids like your children, siblings, nieces and nephews, cousins and even your neighbors kid. Show them that even adults can appreciate a few minutes of loony time.
Learn New Sports. Come on. Be brave and face athletics. Check out if there are sports league in your community. Or if there are sports club you can sign up with.
Sex-ercise. Do all the horizontal and vertical positions known to men and then some. Need I elaborate?
Dance. Fill the hours by enrolling at dance classes (ballroom or street dancing, whatev) or doing the GrooVe at the hottest clubs. Need I mention that this is also a not so obvious way to loose weight for those who don't want to advertise that they are getting "into" the program.

Sail. If you have the means, why not? Sailing is also a great time for reflections. I mean, if youre riding a ferry, you get to sit in one corner and think of things, right? So go right ahead, no ones stopping you.
Fish. If you pass along Roxas Boulevard, youll see people fishing by the bay. It doesnt matter if you get a bite from the fish (doubtful!) or just get to hook some garbage. The important thing is, you get to cast your own pole.
Go Web. Explore what the internet has to offer. Surf until your eyes can't look at another porn...errr... website. Chat until you run out of witty (at least you think so, right?) remarks. Email until you have nothing else to forward.
