His past and true goals are shrouded in mystery. Arucard had a fucked up life when he was growing up. When he was a kid, he was abused by his parents and everyone hated him. After becoming a vampire, Arucard killed everyone that hated him and he killed his parents, so that's the reason why Arucard hates almost everyone. All his life, he's been alone.
