Author's Note: Sorry about the rating, but I'm not really sure what I should rate the story. Thanks to Xita for the beta read. Also, this story... I guess you could say it doesn't really have that much of a plot. I just got caught up in one part, which I'll clue you in on at the end of the story, if you can't figure it out.
Special Note: This story takes place after "Second Guessing".
Angst Warning: Hmm... I think I'll leave that up to you.
Buffy walked to the door, stood in front of it and stared. She reached out with her hand and touched the surface, feeling the texture of the wood-paneling against her fingertips.
It was as if she was trying to find out if there was anyone behind the door, without actually having to knock on it. Taking a deep breath, she knocked on the door, she was surprised when Willow opened it, instead of Tara.
"Hi Buffy," she said, smiling at her roommate.
"Um, hi Will," she replied.
The door swung open wider, revealing Tara standing next to Willow. "Hi," she said.
"Hi... can I come in?" Buffy asked.
"Sure," Tara replied, as she and Willow moved back a few steps so that Buffy could enter the room.
"I'd better get going," Willow said, as she haphazardly stuffed her books into her backpack.
"You... you don't have to go," Tara let her know.
"I've got to finish this paper tonight... thanks for the help," she replied, zipping her bag.
"No problem."
"Are you sure you have to go Will?" Buffy asked.
"Yeah, I'll see you later?"
"Yep."
"Okay, thanks again Tara," Willow said giving Tara then Buffy a hug. "Bye."
"So... so long."
"See ya Will."
"So, what brings you here..." Tara asked, "Not that I don't like when you stop by," added hastily.
"I just wanted to see you," Buffy answered.
Tara smiled as the thought of another conversation, which had started out almost the same way, popped into her head. She closed the door to her room.
"And... now that you've seen me?" she asked.
Buffy turned around and saw the smile on Tara's face and wondered what had brought it about, when it hit her.
"I suppose you want a kiss now?" she said.
"Me? Well, now that you've brought it up," Tara replied, moving closer towards the other girl.
"Yes..."
Buffy closed the gap between them.
"I wouldn't mind having one," Tara said, as her hand caressed Buffy's face.
"Only one?" Buffy whispered as her eyes closed.
"May... maybe more than one?" she asked, leading Buffy towards the bed and gently pushing the other girl down, taking her place beside her.
"I could go for that," Buffy said, before feeling Tara's lips on hers.
It was fleeting, like time itself, yet it had the ability to make her concentrate on the sensation being generated by the touch. Tara's lips were everywhere at once. When she felt the slight sucking on her jugular vein, she moaned out loud, turning her neck to the side.
Tara focused solely on Buffy, she loved the way her skin tasted, how her vein jumped beneath her mouth. She began to nibble, ever so slightly, enjoying the way Buffy's breathing would increase. She slowly moved her way back up to Buffy's lips, licking and tracing them with her tongue.
She could only resist for so long before she had to capture them, pressing her own lips against Buffy's. Her eyes closed, lazily, as if wanting to keep the other girl's face in view. She teased Buffy, sucking on her bottom lip, then the top, never staying in one area for too long. She slid her tongue slowly into Buffy's mouth, caressing, tasting, thoroughly enjoying herself. Soon, hands which had been idle came to life, pulling shirts up and feeling the softness of skin underneath.
Buffy could no longer be passive, and soon began to kiss Tara back with a passion that swept them both away. Tongues slid against each other, as hands cupped and squeezed soft mounds of flesh. Legs hooked around waists, bringing them closer.
The heat between them was blistering as perspiration began to dot both their foreheads. Soon Buffy's mouth left Tara's and moved downward, seeking other things to make contact with. Tara's head fell back and her breath became ragged, as her reality came down to what Buffy was doing to her.
KNOCK
KNOCK
KNOCK
Tara shook her head, she wasn't sure, but she thought she had heard someone knocking on her door.
"Buf... Buffy... the..."
Buffy looked up, while continuing her oral caress.
KNOCK
KNOCK
KNOCK
'Not now,' Buffy told herself.
"Tara...?"
"Will... Willow?" Tara gasped out loud.
"I forgot a book, and I really need it. Can I come in?"
"Give me a minute..." she answered, looking at Buffy and getting up from the bed, quickly adjusting her clothes.
Buffy on the other hand, draped her arm over her eyes and shook her head.
"Buffy, your clothes... pl- please," Tara pleaded. It was one thing to have the gang know that she and Buffy were together, but it was all together something else to show them how far they had gone.
Pushing herself up, Buffy grudgingly straightened her clothes. "Happy?" she asked, thoroughly put out at the interruption.
"Nn... no. I'm sorry."
"It's not your fault, I shouldn't act as if it is... I'm sorry."
"Tara?"
"Be right there Willow." Walking over to her door, she opened it. "You forgot a book?"
"Yeah, I hope I'm not bothering you guys," she said, looking around the room, noticing the way the bed looked and feeling a pang of jealousy, which she shook off quickly.
"Oh... nn no, not at all," Tara replied.
"You know what, I think I'll head down to Giles'. So, why don't you two just finish," Buffy suggested as she got off the bed, feeling a need to get out of the room and not knowing why.
"I found it," Willow said, holding up the book in question.
"That's great," Buffy replied as she walked to the door.
"Buff... Buffy?"
"I'll call you later, I promise," she said as she left the room.
"I interrupted something didn't I?" Willow asked.
"It's alright Willow," Tara answered absentmindedly. "Do you still want help with your paper?"
"If you wouldn't mind," Willow replied.
"No... not at all," she said, closing the door. 'Something's happening, and I don't know what,' she thought to herself as she turned to face a smiling Willow.
She smiled back.
The End.
It was the kiss.. that's really all I wanted to write about, was just a really long, deep, feel-to-the-bottom-of-your-toes, kinda kiss. Oh, BTW, I think I'll leave up to you all, if I should post this anywhere else. A.M.
