The Gestapo and the SS were created in early 1933 by Hermann Goring. During April 1933 Goring became prime minister (president) of Prussia and then created the Gestapo. |

Control over the Gestapo |

The two men that lead the Gestapo were Himmler and Heydrich. In the beginning Himmler established SS power over the political police and concentration camps in Bavaria in early 1933. When he gained this power he gave Heydrich the rule of directing this powerful group. |

Why the SS Were Created ? |

The SS were created to over power and control the police, so the police would basically be under his control running the place how Hitler wanted it to be ran. This meant that the police would be against jewish people and others who Hitler disliked. (which was all done to make the people less humane and below the Nazis) |
