Chapter 22

Diane woke with a start, sitting up and trying to catch her breath.  She shuttered, willing the images from her nightmare out of her head.  Misha walked over to her side of the bed and whined.  Diane looked over to see that Nick was still asleep, then looked down at the puppy, "You need out?"  Misha whined again and trotted to the door.  "OK, I'm coming," Diane said, getting out of bed and following the dog downstairs.  She let her out the patio doors, watching as the puppy ran down to the beach.

She watched Misha play for a moment, then decided to take a good look around the house.  She didn't want to seem nosey last night, but now she could take her time and really look around.  The living room, dining room and kitchen were all one large open area.  There was a laundry room and bathroom off the kitchen, and a huge pantry.  Diane laughed, seeing only a few things in it.  "We'll have to go shopping," she said to herself.  She opened the door that led into the garage, surprised to see three vehicles in it.  There was an SUV, a sporty looking car, and a more practical sedan.  When she walked back in she noticed the keys hanging next to the door.  "Four sets of keys, and only three cars?  What does the other set go to?" she wondered.  As she crossed the living room, walking down the hall behind the stairs she stopped, marveling at the plaques that lined the hallway.  There were gold and platinum album plaques all down the hall.  "Wow, these are neat," she said, smiling at some of the pictures on them, "God they look so young."  She continued down the hall, finding another smaller bedroom, a weight room, bathroom, and an office.  It wasn't the opulent house she had imagined, but it had everything Nick needed and felt homey.  She came back down the hall, glancing up the stairs as she passed.  There were only the two bedrooms upstairs, with a balcony connecting them and open to the main part of the house.  Each bedroom was the same with it's own bath and walk in closet.

Diane stepped out the patio doors, taking her first real look at what was out there.  She smiled seeing the swimming pool and hot tub.  "This is nice," she said, walking the length of the pool.  The patio was large enough to throw a party for fifty on and everyone have a place to sit.  The furniture was very comfortable, and an iron railing wrapped around the entire patio, making it more private.  She walked over to the open gate and took the steps down to the sandy beach.  A stone path led from the bottom of the steps to a pier.  "Ah ha, the fourth set of keys," she said, seeing the yacht anchored to the pier.  She walked toward the water, turning and looking back at the house.  She could see the large windows of the bedrooms upstairs, but the glass looked mirrored, not allowing her to see in.  "I can't believe I live here," she said, letting it all hit her.  Misha came running up the beach, chasing sea gulls and barking at them.  Diane laughed, "Misha, come on, let's go back in."  Misha stopped her chase and followed Diane back to the house and inside.  "You are a good girl," she said, "Now go back upstairs and stay with Nick while I cook breakfast."  Misha cocked her head to the side for a moment, then got up and trotted upstairs, disappearing into Diane's bedroom.  "Smart dog," she said, turning and going into the kitchen to see what they had for breakfast.

Nick slowly opened his eyes and stretched.  He looked around, realizing he wasn't in his bed.  He sat up, running his hand through his hair, and trying to remember why he was in Diane's bed and she wasn't.  He remembered helping her unpack, looking at pictures ... he must have fallen asleep.  That had to be it.  He smiled hearing Diane downstairs.  She was humming something, he couldn't really make out the tune, and by the sound of it, she was in the kitchen.  Nick got up, finding his little computer on the floor and headed downstairs.

Nick watched her as he slowly made it down the stairs.  She had her back to him, standing at the stove.  He loved the way she looked in the morning.  Her hair was down and in disarray from the nights sleep.  She had on the cutest gray and pink pajama set.  It was a tank top with long pants, and she was barefoot.  The smell of the food was making his stomach growl as he walked into the kitchen behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist.  "Nick! God you scared me!" she laughed, turning around in his arms to face him with a spatula in her hand.  Nick grinned at her, then leaned down and gently kissed her forehead.  Diane wanted to melt right there, Nick looked gorgeous in the mornings.  His hair sticking everywhere, that I just woke up' look on his face, not to mention the way his t-shirt and sweats looked on him.
Breathe girl, breathe, she told herself, turning around to make sure she wasn't burning their food.

"Nick, why don't you sit down and I'll be done with this in a sec," she said.  Nick did as she asked, sitting down and watching her finish the meal.  She poured him a cup of coffee and a glass of juice, setting them in front of him.  "I never really asked you what you like to eat," she said, "I hope you like eggs and bacon."  He nodded as she fixed his plate and then her own, bringing them to the table and sitting down.  Nick dug right in, not realizing just how hungry he was until he'd eaten everything on his plate and asked for seconds.  Diane smiled at him, "I was worried you wouldn't like my cooking, I see that's not a problem huh?"  Nick laughed and shook his head, pulling his computer over:
It's really good, thanks. "Yeah, well, anything is better than that hospital food you're used to," she laughed.  Nick smiled at her, finishing his last bite, then sipping on his coffee.  Diane took his empty plate and came back with his morning dose of medicine, "Here ya go."  Nick took them with his juice and watched as Diane proceeded to clean up the kitchen.  When she had put the last dish in the dishwasher and turned it on, she turned around.  Nick was staring at her.  She blushed, why she wasn't sure, and went back over to sit next to him, "So, what do you want to do today?"

Nick shrugged his shoulders, looking down and biting his lip.  Oh he knew what he wanted to do, but he wasn't sure Diane wanted to.  She laughed at him and pulled his chin up so he was looking at her, "Tell me."  He blushed, shaking his head.  Diane knew what he was thinking, hell she'd been thinking about it all morning, and the shy act he was putting on was driving her nuts.  "Nick, it's me.  You don't have to be shy, just tell me," she said, staring deep into his eyes.  He smiled mischievously at her and took her face in his hands, leaning in and kissing her.  Diane wrapped her arms around his neck, her entire body tingling.
Oh my God! I can't believe this is happening!  Yes you can, are you nuts?  You've been wanting this forever, OK shut up and kiss the boy already, she thought, her mind reeling with anticipation of what was to come.

God I can't believe this is finally happening.  I've been waiting for this forever, now we're finally alone .... shut up Carter and concentrate on what your doing, Nick thought, as he let go of Diane's face and slowly brought his hands around her back, trailing down her spine with a light feathery touch.  Diane shivered in his arms, causing him to smile.  Nick stood up, pulling her with him.  He slowly walked her backwards towards the couch, never breaking their kiss.  In his mind he wondered how comical they looked, her being so much shorter than he, and him leaning down, with her in his arms, trying to make it to the couch.  They made it there, Diane sitting down and then stretching out as Nick positioned himself above her, holding himself up with his elbows.  He broke their kiss, moving down her neck and then back up to her ear lobe, placing soft light kisses as he went.  Diane couldn't help the moan that escaped her lips when Nick snaked his tongue around her ear lobe and started sucking on it.  His hands where in her hair, and his hot breath on her skin, she was in sensory overload and loving every second of it.

Diane was pulling at his shirt, wanting to touch the soft skin underneath.  Nick pushed himself up and removed his t-shirt, throwing it to the floor as he resumed his torturous kisses.  Diane ran her hands down his back, grazing her nails across his skin.  She felt Nick tremble under her touch as she slid her tongue down the side of his neck, stopping to suck on his shoulder.  Nick moaned in response, letting himself down to rest on top of her.  He was still weak and couldn't hold himself up any longer.  Diane ran her hands through his hair, knowing they couldn't stay in that position anymore, she hooked her leg around Nick's and in one swift move, rolled them over onto the floor.  She grinned at him as he looked at her somewhat surprised.  She leaned down and began kissing and sucking on his neck and down his chest.  He tangled his hands in her hair, moaning as she got closer to where he wanted her to be.  She looked up and smiled at him, then sat up and removed her shirt.  She watched as his eyes darkened with lust and love, his mouth slightly open in awe.
She's perfect, he thought as he gazed at her.  Diane blushed under his gaze.  There was just something in the way he looked at her that made her feel so loved and so beautiful.

Nick sat up, taking her in his arms and pulling her to him.  He caressed her back as he kissed down her neck.  The feeling of her bare skin on his was electrifying.  He slowly kissed his way down the valley between her breasts, then over, taking one in his mouth as he lightly touched the other with his hand.  Diane almost lost it right there, her heart was beating out of her chest and she was in ecstasy.  Nick swirled his tongue around her sensitive nipple, taking his time and driving her completely insane with pleasure.  Diane moved her hands down his sides and around to cup him through his sweats.  Nick jerked at the touch and smiled at her as she started grinding their hips together at a slow mind blowing pace.  The only thing separating them was the offending material of his sweats and her pajama bottoms.  Nick kissed his way back up and crushed his lips on hers in a fierce kiss.  Each time she ground their hips together he moaned into her mouth.  Diane broke the kiss, both of them gasping for air, "I want you so much," she whispered.  Nick pulled her into another hot kiss, wishing he could tell her what he was thinking, how much he wanted her, how beautiful she was, how much he loved her.

Diane reached down and hooked her fingers under the waste band of his sweats, pulling on them.  Nick broke the kiss, lifting his hips and letting her pull them off.
Holy shit, he's gorgeous, she thought, staring at him.  Nick felt his cheeks go hot with a blush under her stare.  He felt so vulnerable and yet so incredibly wanted and loved at that moment.  He reached for her, breaking her trance.  Before she let him take her in his arms again, she removed her pajama bottoms and threw them in the pile of clothes on the floor, then straddled him, leaning down and kissing him.  Nick wrapped his arms around her, then moved his hands down her back to cup her ass. Please, I can't take this much more, he thought, begging her with his eyes.  Diane smiled at him, then sat up, taking his throbbing member in her hand, "You ready baby?"   Nick nodded, his eyes dark with pleasure and anticipation.  Diane's entire body shivered under his stare, and she positioned herself over him, guiding him with her hand as she let herself down.

They both moaned at the sensation.  Nick brought his hands to her hips and after a moment, he began to gently rock her back and forth.  Diane leaned forward and took him in a searing kiss, letting her hands roam his body.  She refused to go at a fast pace, knowing the slow rhythm she was at was driving Nick insane.  Her mind was fogged with pleasure, looking down at Nick.  He had his eyes closed, his body shining with sweat and the most intense pleasure filled look on his face.  With each movement she made he thrust his hips up, meeting hers.  His moans were becoming more desperate and she could feel him throbbing inside her, knowing that he was close to his release.  She increased her pace, feeling her own body start to go over the edge.  "Nicky ... God baby .. I can't ... oh shit, Nick!" she cried, as she came.  Nick screamed as her walls closed in on him and sent him into his own orgasm.  He held her to him as wave after wave of pleasure ran though his body.

After a few moments Diane lifted her head from his chest and looked into his eyes.  She smiled, brushing a few sweaty strands of hair from his forehead, "You are amazing."  Nick smiled and shook his head, caressing her cheek with his hand, he pulled her down and kissed her passionately.  He couldn't verbalize what he felt, but he hoped she could see it in his eyes and feel it in his kiss,
I love you so much, he thought.

Just then the phone rang, startling them both.  Diane laughed as she tried to reach the extension next to the couch and couldn't, not wanting to actually get up.  Nick smiled, sitting up and grabbing it, handing it to her as he lay back down on the floor.  "Hello," she said, "Carter residence."  "Good morning dear," Jane said.  "Morning," Diane said, looking at Nick, It's your mom,' she mouthed.  Nick rolled his eyes and laughed.  "I hope I'm not calling to early," Jane went on, "But I wanted to make sure Nick was alright after his seizure last night."  "Yeah, he's doing fine," Diane said, feeling rather strange talking to Jane on the phone as she lay naked with her son on the floor.  "Good, how bout you two come over to the house this afternoon.  We'll have lunch and then us girls could go shopping for a bit while the guys hang out," she suggested.  "Oh um yeah that sounds nice," Diane said, "Let me tell Nick."  "Your mom wants us to come over and have lunch," she said.  Nick nodded, not really wanting to go.  He'd rather stay where he was all day, but he knew his parents wouldn't take no for an answer.  "OK, yeah, sounds good," Diane told Jane.  "Great honey, see you in an hour or so then," Jane said.  "Oh, um, OK," Diane said, not realizing how late in the morning it was.  She hung up the phone and smiled at Nick, "We have an hour."  He groaned and pouted, pulling her to him again and not letting her go.  "Nick!" Diane laughed, "If we're late you know they'll come over here and see what's taking us so long."  He sighed, looking at her,
Boy, she already knows them so well. "You know I'm right don't you?" she teased.  He nodded, looking rather disappointed.  Diane sat up, pulling him up with her, "Well, look at it this way, we go and spend time with you're family, then we can come home and spend all night with each other."  Nick smiled.  "And of course we both need a shower," she teased, getting up and grabbing the pile of clothes in the floor.  "There's no use in wasting all that water on two showers when we can take one together," she said, turning and starting up the stairs.  Nick grinned as he got up and followed her, Damn what a wonderful morning. "That is unless you want to shower by yourself," she said, turning to face him at the top of the stairs.  Nick gave her a shocked look and vigorously shook his head.  She laughed as she pulled him into his room, "Didn't think so."
