| Chapter 36 Aleisha woke up and got out of bed. She looked down, making sure she hadn't woken Brian. She made her way out of their bedroom and walked past Nick's. She noticed his door was open and no one was in the room. She leaned over the banister, looking into the living room, no one was there either. Aleisha went downstairs and looked around the house, she was the only one up. She started some coffee and went back upstairs. Brian opened his eyes as she came back in the room. "Morning," he said. She smiled at him, "Good morning, you sleep well?" He sat up in bed and ran his hands through his hair, "Yeah, when I got to sleep," he said with a laugh. She smirked at him, "Speaking of sleeping. Nick's not in his room," she said. Brian looked up at her, "Where is he?" "If I had to guess, I'd say in Lyn's room," she said, looking through the closet to find something to ware. "You're kidding?!" Brian said, hopping out of bed. "Go look for yourself," she said, going into the bathroom. Brian quietly walked out of the room and to Nick's door. Seeing no one was there, he made his way down to Lyn's room. He listened at the door, not hearing anything. Then he turned around and went back to his room, walking into the bathroom, "Leisha, you think they been in there all night?" She was in the shower, "I dunno. You can ask them when they get up." Brian laughed, "I'm not gonna ask them that!" "Why not? You wanna know don't you?" she said, peeking her head out. "Well, yeah, but that's just not something you ask someone," he said. She laughed, "You are so modest, I'll ask if you want me to." "Oh no, don't you even dare," Brian said, laughing. "OK, I won't, just cause you don't want me to," she said, turning off the water and grabbing her towel. "Coffee should be done by now," she said. "Oh good," he said, leaving the room and heading downstairs. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Lyn opened her eyes, looking over at Nick. He was still asleep, and had his arm around her. She lay there thinking about what had happened last night. She smiled, happy that Nick's feelings for her had blossomed into the love she'd always had for him. He stirred and she looked over, meeting his eyes as they opened. He looked at her for a moment, then smiled, "Morning." She smiled back, "Morning to you too." "What time is it?" Nick asked. "About nine," she answered. Nick groaned, "I don't wanna get up, this feels to good." Lyn laughed, "Then don't. There's no rule that says we have to get up right now." "Yeah, but, Brian and Aleisha will be up soon," he said. "I think they already are," she said, hearing movement in the hall. "Man, you know we are gonna get teased about this," Nick said. Lyn laughed, "I wouldn't expect anything less." Nick laughed, "Ouch, man I gotta quit doing that," he said, reaching over and holding his side. Lyn sat up, looking around for her clothes. "Aww, don't get up," Nick said. "I'm awake now, if I lay here to long I'll get a headache," she said, finding her pajamas in a wadded up ball in the floor. "Well, then I guess I'm getting up too," Nick said, sitting up in bed. Lyn picked his shorts up and threw them at him. They hit him in the face before he could catch them, "Thanks" he laughed. Lyn disappeared into the bathroom and Nick stood up, putting his shorts and t-shirt on and left the room. He could see Brian sitting on the couch watching TV. Brian looked up at him and smiled as Nick made his way into his room and shut the door. "Yup, gonna get seriously teased," Nick said, on his way to the shower. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Leighanne and Kira were making breakfast when A.J. came downstairs. Howie was in his office working on some things. "Well morning sunshine," Leighanne said. A.J. groaned. "Oh, someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed," Kira teased. "Coffee," he said, "I need coffee." The girls laughed as he poured himself a cup and sat down. "So Alex, you never did really tell us what you and Aleisha got at the lingerie store yesterday," Leighanne said. He looked up at her, almost in a shocked way, "Um, just some stuff." "Well, did you get Sarah anything?" Kira asked. He thought, "Um, no I actually didn't. Couldn't find anything I liked." "Really? That's not like you not to find something you like," Leighanne said. He just shrugged his shoulders. "Well, you and Aleisha seemed to be getting along pretty well," Kira said. A.J. spat coffee out of his mouth. "You OK?" Leighanne asked, throwing him a towel. "Yeah I'm fine. Burnt my tongue," he said. Kira sat the plate of eggs on the table, "So, you find a kindred shopping spirit in her or what?" He smiled, "Yeah, you could say that I guess." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Nick walked downstairs and into the kitchen. Lyn and Aleisha were finishing up breakfast, Brian sitting at the table waiting. "Morning Nicky," he said, a huge smile on his face. "Morning," Nick said, sitting down. Lyn got him a cup of coffee and set it down in front of him. "Thanks," he said, flashing her a smile. She smiled back at him, as she walked around the counter and fixed his plate for him. Nick didn't look at Brian, he could see him through the corner of his eyessmiling at him. "Brian, stop that," he said. "Stop what?" Brian asked. "Stop grinning at me, God you look like the Cheshire Cat," Nick said, laughing. "Whatever are you talking about?" Brian said, teasing. Nick just rolled his eyes, as Lyn brought him his plate. "Thanks baby," Nick said. She sat down next to him, with her own plate. Aleisha took Brian his and for a few minutes everything was quiet. "So Nick, you um have trouble sleeping last night?" Brian asked. Nick dropped his fork in his plate and looked over at him, "No Brian I slept very well, thank you for asking though. And before you say another word, YES we had sex last night and it was the most incredible thing I've ever experienced. Anything else you wanna know?" Everyone sat there in shock. "Um no, I'm good thanks," Brian finally said. Nick leaned over and whispered in Lyn's ear, "Teach him to tease us again." Lyn laughed, giving him a kiss on the nose. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A.J. went upstairs and into his room. He sat on his bed pondering what he should do. He finally picked up his cell phone and dialed the number. "Hello," Aleisha said. "Hey, just the person I need to talk to," he said. "A.J. is that you?" she asked, in a hushed tone. "Yeah," he said, "Can you talk?" "Um, not right now," she said, "You know you shouldn't be calling." "I know, but I can't help it. I need to see you," he said. There was silence on the other end. "Leisha?" A.J. said. "Alright, um meet me at the roadside park on the way into town in an hour," she said. A.J. smiled, "Thanks." "K, see ya there," Aleisha said, hanging up the phone. "Who was on the phone?" Brian asked. "Wrong number," Aleisha said, turning to go upstairs. "What you doing?" Brian asked. "I need to go into town, I realized I forgot to get a few things that we need," she said. "Like what?" he asked. "Well, toilet paper, some milk, you know stuff like that," she answered. "Oh, OK," he said, watching her go upstairs. Nick noticed the conversation, wondering what she was really up to. He waited until Aleisha left then went up to his room and locked the door. He grabbed his cell, punching in the number. "Hello?" Leighanne said. "It's me, can you talk?" Nick said. "Hang on a sec," she said. He could hear her moving around and a few doors shutting. "OK," Leighanne said. "Lee, were you able to get anything from A.J.?" Nick asked. "No, he wouldn't say anything. But me and Kira were kinda teasing him this morning about being friends with her and his reaction wasn't quite right," she answered. "Is he there now?" he asked. "No, he left a few minutes ago, something about being bored and going for a drive," Leighanne said. "Damn," Nick said, "She just left too." "Do you think they're meeting or something?" she asked. "I don't know, but be careful. If she gets him on her side and she's suspicious of us, she may have him spying on you," Nick said. "I don't think she knows anything," Leighanne said. "Well, just the same, watch your back," he said, "Did you get what I need yet?" "Not yet, I'll let you know," she said. "OK, take care," he said. "I will," she said, hanging up. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Aleisha pulled up, seeing A.J.'s car parked away from all the others. She parked next to it, and A.J. got out and walked over, getting in the passengers seat. She stared at him, "What was so important that you had to see me?" "I just, I needed to. What did you do to me yesterday?" he asked. "I didn't do anything to you," she said. He looked at her, "Why am I so jumpy when someone asks me about you?" "Who's asking?" she wanted to know. "Oh, this morning at breakfast, Lee and Kira were teasing me. I totally overreacted to it," A.J. said. "Listen, you just need to calm down. I'm sure they were only kidding with you," she said, putting her hand on his leg. A.J.'s eyes started to cloud over again. "There that's better," she said. A.J. moved in for a kiss, when she backed away, "Not here, it's to public." She looked around, seeing a trail leading into the woods, "Come on," she said, getting out of the car. A.J. followed her. She took him off the trail a ways and behind a large fallen tree. As soon as they were out of sight of the trail, A.J. pulled her in for a kiss. "Alex, I want you to do something for me," she said. "Anything," he said, kissing down her neck. "I want you to keep an eye on Leighanne for me. She seems a little to interested in what we're doing," Aleisha said. "OK," he said. She pulled his head up from her neck and passionately kissed him, "You know we can't do this everyday." "I need you, how am I suppose to wait?" he said. She smiled at him, "You can do it. You're a big boy." "Please, don't make me wait to long," he said, looking at her like a lost child. "I won't, but you can't call me anymore. I'll get in touch with you," she said. He nodded his head, as she pushed him back and climbed on top of him, "But since we're already here," she said, much to A.J.'s delight. Chapter 37 |
