Foxridge Improvement Association Minutes for 6/18/2001
Meeting called to order by Paul Conkling at 7:05 pm at Fiore's Restaurant
Present: Paul Conkling, president, Michael Sutherland, ACCORD, Katie Barrett, secretary, Terry Riester, covenant violation officer, Anita Joseph-Conkling, covenant consolidation, Bob Bardwell, GID, Jamie Debartolomeis, county line road improvement coordinator, Bob Datson, ACC appeals, Ken Kwiecien, Architectural Control Committee (ACC) Absent: Anne Taylor, treasurer, John Riggs, tree advisor, Barbara Fischer, covenant decision appeals Beverly Bunker, ACC Minutes of 5/21/01 approved with the following corrections: 2nd letter of covenant violation includes right to appeal. CEN-CON is the new "ACCORD." New Treasurer: Anne Taylor submitted a letter of resignation for her position as treasurer. Motion made, seconded and carried to appoint Burt Elliot to FIA Board. Motion made, seconded and carried to appoint Burt to treasurer's position. COMMUNITY VISITORS: Bruce Coles, 8184 So. Niagara Ct., asked for help with more stop signs on Otero Don & Janet DeWolfe, 8251 So. Krameria Wy., concerned about numbers of cars, trash cans left out, and trash on sides of homes in their neighborhood. REPORTS: Budget: 587 homes out of 932 have paid (63%). Treasurer duties turned over to Burt Elliot. Checking $3,565.29, Savings $12,002.18. Many thanks to Terry for filling in as treasurer. Covenants: ACC (Ken) 12 requests for approval, turn around time by phone 3-5 days, followed up in writing. Ken suggests we enlist more people for ACC so committee can stay ahead of changing materials. Violations (Terry) many cards sent out regarding dead trees and trees obstructing sidewalks. Terry fielded 139 phone calls. We may need to use and further define the "nuisance clause." Consolidation (Anita) continuing consultations with lawyer; covenant review for consolidation $500. Review of Articles of Incorporation, Bylaws, Rules and Regulations for consistency, revisions $900. Questions about attorney writing letter for 3rd violation, Michael S. volunteered to attend attorney meetings with Anita. Motion made, seconded and carried authorizing Anita to spend up to $2000. on attorney fees. Maintenance : (Terry) Weeds are getting cleaned up. Landscaping company will come through 2 times per month for clean-up. Landscaper who planted trees at Otero and Holly will replace dead tree for free. Page 1 of 2 CEN-CON: (Michael) Centennial Council of Neighborhoods. Question about carry over of ACCORD dues to current organization. GID: (Bob) Approximately $98,000 available for neighborhood expenses. Currently waiting on updated sign bid. Pursuing Aqua-Corp to fix watering timer system at Otero and Holly. FoxTales: Continues to be profitable. Large issue this month but postage same. Current ads finish run in September. County Line Road Improvement: (Jamie) Road complete from Quebec to Niagara. Niagara neighborhood entrance will remain closed until Fall. Teens were shooting at construction workers with BB guns. We will detail this incident in FoxTales hoping for information. No information about any car dealerships being built in our area. OLD BUSINESS: Sign bids: Motion made, seconded and carried to table discussion until bids could be updated to include brick backgrounds. Suggestion was make to insure the secure "footing" of the brick walls. Benches: Eagle Scout Brian Strausburger built and installed two benches. Summer Party: Purpose is to build "community." Bob has been in contact with a Jazz Band "Balance" who have offered to play at the park. Looking at a Sunday, afternoon the pool will be open and in the evening families can go to the park with a family picnic. Motion made, seconded and carried to authorize $500 toward party expenses. NEW BUSINESS: Perimeter fence refurbish: We have received one bid to power wash, seal and give a five year guarantee on common fences. .80/sq. ft. based on 4 miles of fence, $84,000.
