Foxridge Improvement Association Minutes for 4/16/2001
Meeting called to order by Paul Conkling at 7:05 pm at Homestead Elementary School
Present: Michael Sutherland, ACCORD, Katie Barrett, secretary, Terry Riester, covenant control coordinator, Anita Joseph-Conkling, covenant rewrite, Barbara Fischer, covenant decision appeals Bob Bardwell, GID, Jamie Debartolomeis, county line road improvement coordinator Absent: Anne Taylor, treasurer, John Riggs, tree advisor Minutes of 3/19/01 approved Introduced new officers: Paul Conkling, president, Michael Sutherland, ACCORD, Lisa Kwiecien, ACC COMMUNITY VISITORS: Bob Datson- questions about paint approval, specifically "earthtones". FoxRidge appears to be more color diverse than surrounding communities. The last 20 years have seen "shake roofs" define our community. We need to look to colors to "hold together community." Eric Sorrin-where is the documentation backing color restrictions? Bill Pfifer-shat are the steps taken when there is a covenant violation? Eric Sorrin-when will the drafts of covenants be discussed? Bev Bunker- Wanted to share concerns about funding of "land locked" schools such as the Littleton School District. Currently an unfair playing field as Douglas County and Cherry Creek Schools are growing and receiving more funding. Ultimately may affect neighborhood value because schools are impacted. Need to contact John Andrews-Centennial Representative to raise awareness. John Monark-daughter struck unconscious by bicyclist traveling too fast on neighborhood paths. Asked for a safety note in FoxTales. REPORTS: Budget: Anne Taylor has resigned, discussion tabled until next meeting. Covenants: 5 Approvals, 7 called to thank Terry for cards to remind them of the approval process. Concerns about white plastic fence. Abandoned house at 7947 So. Niagara has been sold. Another property has been wrecked by renters and abandoned. Huge rolloff parked in driveway. Maintenance: Aqua Corp. (responsible for sprinkler system at Holly and Otero) has refused to return phone calls. Send a registered letter asking for response. Baldwin Landscape Service has been hired to clean sidewalk along Quebec, trim trees and plant flowerbeds. Questions about site lines on corners. Referred to Arapahoe County. ACCORD: No report Page 1 of 2 GID: Reapportioned funds have been returned to us. As of 3/28/01 it is $101,685. Bob will contact County Attorney to see if a portion of Terry's salary can be covered. Terry acts on behalf of GID, maintaining and protecting their expenditures. New signs and updating old signs is estimated at $40,000. County Line and Niagara $60,000. Waiting on Boy Scout bid for benches and doggy stations along paths. So. Suburban is very strict about materials used. County Line Road Improvement: Representative will come to our next meeting at 6:30 to discuss project. Covenant Rewrite: Anita has received 300 responses to survey. Information very thorough, suggestions given. Most respondents want: to keep covenants close to what we have now, favor mandatory dues and consistent enforcement. Will send out draft 4/20 to HO, arrange discussion May 23 or 24 at Homestead. OLD BUSINESS: Submit sign bids $47,000. Signs to include "FoxRidge", for example Trophy Club at FoxRidge.
