The Modern Cowboy

I love the modern cowboy --

Stetson shading his eyes from the spotlight,

A guitar and cellphone to replace the holster,

Faded blue jeans hugging long legs

That wrap around a horse named Harley.

 

Kind eyes, and voice with a lazy drawl,

Gentleman of the city streets.

Lady-killer smile and “Howdy, ma’am” manners –

I love the modern cowboy,

Antiqued in all that matters.
