Possession
Be Thou my vision,
O Ancient of Days—
Let the scales of my blindness
Melt beneath Your gaze.
Touch my eyes and watch them open;
Kiss my lips and give me speech.
In my heart You sit enthroned—
Holy One of God, possess me.
The morning belongs to You;
Evening bows at Your feet.
Night and day leap to Your bidding,
And You ask the same of me.
So I am Yours, surrendered;
Unquestioningly submitted.
Enslaved to Your love,
Enthralled, captivated, smitten.
I'm Yours, unconditionally,
forever,
Helpless in the face of Your passion,
Bound in the arms of Your intimacy--
I am a willing possession.
