Battle for the Dream Masters

Chapter 41

Last Time . . .

“Ok, I went from forest, to cave, to ocean to a river? Freaky!” He said, noticing Leo sitting on the branch of a tree that jetted over the water.

“Impressive . . .” Leo said laughing. “Sounds like a lot of fun!”

“I’ve had better!”

“Glad to hear it.”

“So this is the falls?”

“Yep . . .”

“Now what am I supposed to do?”

“Come, I’ll show you!”

This Time . . .

“Well . . .” Josh thought to himself, “Let’s start climbing!”

He mounted the foot of the wall and started up. Harder than he expected, the Chosen One was shocked that he was starting to have trouble climbing up.

“Not as easy as you would think, huh?” A voice said from beside him.

Startled at the intrusion, he looked to see a young blonde kid climbing next to him.

“Who are you?” Josh asked, still holding on.

“A friend . . . Let’s just keep it at that.”

“Ok . . . friend . . . why are you here?”

“To tell you that I understand your pain, and so does he.”

“He who?”

“Lance . . .”

“And how do you know this?”

“I have my ways.”

“Quite vague for someone who’s supposed to be my friend, don’t you think?” He said as he continued to climb.

“Well, I can’t give you all the answers!”

“And how do you know Lance?”

“You know very well how I know him . . .”

“You . . . You’re . . .” Josh said as he lost his footing and was holding on the side of the wall with one hand.

“Yes . . .” The strange man said reaching his hand out to Josh.

“But how . . .”

“Like the kid said, time doesn’t exist here, it’s how you’re able to travel through it.”

“Something’s different about you . . .”

“Yeah, but hey, I’ve been known to be different!”

“Why are you really here?”

“To tell you that he understands.”

“You said this, but how do I know you’re telling the truth?”

“Well, you’re just gonna have to trust me on that.”

“How do I know I can do that?”

“I just saved you from falling, didn’t I?”

“It takes a lot more to earn my trust.”

“You really are stubborn!”

“Comes with the territory, you should know that!”

“I do, I do . . .”

“How long does it take him?”

“Well, that’s up to him . . . But all I can tell you is that he loves you and he doesn’t hate you.”

“I love him . . .”

“For awhile, he doubted that, but then he said something about your eyes, that they always told the truth no matter what.”

“He’s the only one that can read them.”

“The ring brings him strength.”

“He’s a strong guy . . .”

“That he is . . .”

“Stronger than me . . . Anyone that could put up with all the shit I put him through has to be!”

“Because you are who you are, there’s no possible way to totally clear your mind, but what you can do is stay certain in your knowledge. Have faith in your love, faith in your kindness, faith in your friends and most importantly, yourself.”

“It’s hard, but I can do it.”

“I know you can, he told me that that was one thing you could never lose, your faith.”

“It’s what keeps me sane, that and of course his love.”

“He knows that too, it even makes him feel stronger.”

“Then my purpose has been fulfilled.”

“And look, you’re to the top already!” The strange man said disappearing.

“That was fast!” Dom said as Josh climbed over the ledge.

“How do you know? Time doesn’t exist!” Josh said smiling as he stood up.

“Funny . . .”

“Well, what’re we waitin for? Let’s go!”

“Follow me!”

They walked through the large cave opening that stood before them and entered into the darkness. They stopped for a moment as Dom took a torch that was on the cave wall so they could see in front of them. They walked a few feet and came to an opening that had a bright light radiating from it. He placed the torch back on the wall and they proceeded into the clearing. They looked around their surroundings and saw pillars holding up the ceiling around the cave. Water was trickling down the walls and in the center, was a large fountain with the mark of the Chosen One inscribed around the stone it was made out of. Directly in front of them was a pathway that led to a stone plank hanging over the deep fountain.

“I thought you said it was vertical?”

“You’ll see . . .”

As they walked down the path, they stepped up the stairs that led to the fountain, and stood at the end of the plank where there was a single barren torch. Josh felt the mark on his back light up and the torch lit beside them. Startled at the sudden outburst of flame, Josh stared at the torch. He turned his attention back to the fountain and saw water simultaneously rise from the fountain and fall from the ceiling to form a circular pool in front of him.

“Told you . . .”

“Funny . . .”

He walked to the edge of the plank and felt the water that was now in front of him.

“Here goes nothin!” He said jumping through.

As he jumped into the portal, he felt as if he were in a giant pool of dry water. He hardly got a chance to look around before he saw himself on a set of steps, in front of a university building. He stood up and was suddenly pushed from behind.

"Oomph!" A male voice groaned, falling to the floor. "OW!"

Josh turned around to see a short, skinny, funny looking 18-year-old kid, with shaggy black hair and a pointy nose.

"Sorry . . ." The kid said from the floor, gathering his books. "I'm running a little late . . ."

"No problem . . ." Josh said handing him one of his books.

"Thanks! Do you know where the psychology building is?" the kid said trying to make out the face the stranger.

"No, sorry . . ." Josh said stepping into the sunlight.

"It's okay . . . I think it's this one anyway." he said looking down to make sure he had everything. "Chris Kirkpatrick . . ." He said looking back up, extending his hand, but seeing no one there. "What the . . . Asshole!" He said getting up.

"Sorry Bro . . . You're not supposed to know me yet!" Josh whispered to himself as he stood invisible on the branch of a nearby tree that he teleported to.

He watched as Chris brushed himself off and hurried on to class. Then, morphing into a bird, he flew after him and perched on a branch outside his classroom. He couldn't help but laugh as he saw everyone stare at his friend walking in late. As the class neared an end, the sun began to set.

"Here we go!" Josh thought to himself as Chris came out of the building.

He continued to fly after him until they reached a bar just off campus. Following him inside, morphed as a tall, rugged looking man, he watched as Chris drowned his sorrows in shots of tequila. After having five shots, he started to get dizzy. The bar tender seeing this, said,

"Hey buddy! I think you've had enough! You got someone here that can walk you home?"

"I'll take him!" A blonde haired woman replied.

"Yeah! I'll takem!" Chris drunkenly repeated.

"Come on sweetie, lets get you home!" she said putting his arm around her.

Josh seeing this as suspicious got up first and headed for the door; He waited outside, blending up against a wall, until they started walking. As they started down the street, he followed unnoticed. He watched intently as they stopped at a corner and made a left turn into a dead end. Josh morphed himself into a cat and ran into the ally after them.

"Where are we going?" Chris asked as they rounded the corner.

"You'll see . . ." She said with a wicked smile.

"Are we gonna have sex now?"

"Maybe . . ." she said throwing him up against a dumpster, plunging her mouth on his.

As they started making out, Chris felt the hatch of the dumpster open, his blonde mistress now kissing her way down his chest, he saw a brown haired woman reach out to his face and pull him into a kiss. Surprised, but extremely turned on, he felt the blonde fumbling with his pants, reaching for his now fully erect penis. As the blonde licked the head of his circumcised cock, the brunette started down to his neck. Running into the alley, Josh hissed at the two vixens taking advantage of his friend. The women both took their attention off their victim and hissed back at the cat, now both in their vampiress form. Chris looked over at the cat, then down at the blonde and over at the brunette and screamed. The cat ran forward, jumped in the air and morphed back into Josh, kicking the cock-teasing beastess onto the floor. He then reached over to the dumpster chick and pulled her out headfirst, throwing her against the parallel wall, just as she was about to sink her teeth into Chris' neck. He grabbed Chris' neck to double check for puncture marks, then put pressure on it, rendering him unconscious. As Chris fell to the floor, Josh stomped on the blonde's neck, turning her to dust, and then shot an energy blast at the brunette, piercing her heart. Expecting there to be more, he stood on guard, rapidly turning around to check for others. After a few checks of the alley, he paused.

"That's it?! That can't b . . ." he began but was cut off by Chris, moaning starting to wake up.

He ran over to his friend, tucked and rolled, touched him and teleported him to his bed back in his apartment.

"What the hell?!" he said rubbing his head. "What a weird ass dream!" he said looking down at his still erect penis, pointing out of his undone pants. "Really weird!" he said shrugging. "Oh well!" he said grabbing his dick, as he started to stroke it.

Josh quickly teleported himself into the time portal, and once he stepped through, yelled,

“EEEEWW!!! I DID NOT NEED TO SEE THAT!”

“Me either . . .”

“So . . . I guess that’s it?”

“I guess . . .”

”I dunno . . . That seemed . . .” Josh said touching the liquid of the time pool. “Too easy!”

“Maybe it was supposed to be.”

“I dunno . . .” He gazed into the water, and saw his reflection, with different clothes on. “I KNOW WHERE HE’S GOING!”

“Huh?”

“Take me back to London, December 22, 1765!”

“Why then?”

“There was a vampire hunter back then by the name of Jean Claude Camois, my ancestor through my father’s side, also an incarnate of mine. That was the month, day and year in which he died. For that short time, from his death till December 24th, a Chosen Team was on their way from Russia. He left behind a wife, an incarnate of Lance’s, who was pregnant with a really great, great grandmother of mine. That’s the only window of time in my legacy that wasn't protected by a Chosen Team. If he kills her, then he’ll destroy my lineage.”

“What about the others?”

“They'll be some vamps to keep them busy when they're going, just like mine! They're only a diversion to buy Wilkes some time.”

“Are you sure?”

“Positive! Just take me back!”

“Whatever you say, I'm just the medium!”

Dom concentrated on keeping the time pool open; while Josh focused on the time he was to go to.

“Here we go again!” Josh said as he jumped into the pool.
