Battle for the Dream Masters

Chapter 20

Last Time . . .

“Well . . .” A deep voice said as they brought Leo in, “Look who we have here!”

Leo was suddenly thrown out of his trance and looked at who the voice was coming from.

“I . . . I thought you were d . . . dead!?” Leo stuttered out.

“I am! As will you be soon enough!” Dr. Wilkes said.

This Time . . .

Justin pulled up outside of the hanger. As he stepped out of the cloaked car, it looked as if he appeared out of nowhere. He looked at his surroundings and looked towards the hanger.

“Hey!” A voice called out, “What are you doin out here!?”

Justin turned around and was about to strike the person, thinking it was a vampire. Standing before him was an airport security guard, doing his rounds.

“Oh, sorry, this isn’t the way to the baggage claim?” Justin asked.

“No, it’s not!”

“Well, I must’ve taken a wrong turn somewhere!”

“Yeah, you must’ve.”

“Could you point me in the direction of the baggage claim please?”

“Sure it’s . . . ooph!” The security guard said, as Justin hit him on the back of the head.

“Thanks!” Justin said walking towards the hanger.

He snuck into the hanger without any further problems. Still unnoticed, and crept around some crates to get a better view of the area. He saw Leo being held down by a couple of vampires, and a man standing in front of him with a look of evil intentions on his vampire face. He focused in his vision so he could read the vampire’s lips and know what he was saying.

“Oh, poor Leo . . . always thinking you can take care of yourself! Now look at you! Pathetic! But don’t worry, you won’t be so . . . pathetic for long! I can promise you that! And once I have all of you, we will take all of them!” As Justin stood there, he was pondering whether to save Leo through a full out battle, or just sneak him out of there. If he went psycho-slayer on them, a few might get away and have others follow him back to the Manor. If he snuck Leo out of there, they’d all still be alive and still pose a threat. He decided to risk them following him back to the Manor, cause they could always take them out in numbers. “Those slayers may be able to stop what’s going on in the present, but they can’t control what’s in the past!”

“Kill me! I’d rather DIE than help you!”

“Oh, you’ll do both!”

“Now why would he wanna go and do that?!” Justin said making his presence known. All eyes were turned on him. “Now, you can either hand him over and die, or make me have to take him and die even worse! You decide!”

“Get him!” Dr. Wilkes commanded.

“I was sooo hoping you’d say that!” Justin said as he prepped for battle.

The small gang of vampires came in and started to circle around Justin. As he observed their moves, he saw Dr. Wilkes about to bite Leo. With a wave of his hand, a gust of wind shot out and the doctor flew to the side. Upon the crash, the vampires closed in on Justin. The first one tried to jump on him, but was met with a fireball. The enflamed vampire started to flail around in pain, and by doing so, set another vamp on fire. The two roasted vamps turned into ashes. A small group of the remaining vamps fled for their lives, and the ones remaining were taken out quickly. After killing a few more vamps, Justin ran over to Leo and freed him.

“Come on, let’s get out of here before anymore come!” Justin said after untying him.

“Too late!” Leo said pointing behind him.

“FUCK!” Justin said getting into a fighting stance, “You can fight right?”

“Yeah.”

“Good! Here, take this!” Justin said handing him a stake, “Aim for the heart!”

Leo took the stake just as a vampire came at him. He held the stake up and the vamp landed square on it. After he turned to dust, Leo looked at the pile of ashes in awe. He didn’t see the vampire that came up behind him.

Justin shot a few vampires with his pulse gun and used his magic and fighting skills on the rest. Just as he had a vampire in a headlock and was about to snap his neck, he saw the vampire sneaking up on Leo. Justin grabbed the vampire that he had in the headlock by the neck and pulled his head off, causing him to turn to dust. He looked over at Leo, then aimed the gun at the vampire sneaking up on him. Justin shot a pulse ray towards the teen and ashes hit his back, Leo then turned around to see Justin pointing the gun in his direction. He also saw a vampire sneaking up behind Justin about to strike. Before he could warn Justin, Justin stuck his hand back and grabbed the vamp by the neck.

“DUCK!” Justin yelled. As he shot his gun towards the vampire that was behind Leo, he enflamed his vamp filled hand turning the it to dust. “Come on! Let’s get out of here NOW!”

Leo ran towards Justin, and they both got out of there before any more vampires could attack. As they reached the outside, they saw a group of vampires unknowingly standing in front of the cloaked car. At the head of the group was the girl from the hover-bike and Dr. Wilkes.

“Dr. Wilkes I presume!” Justin said as they both stopped running.

“Pleased to be the one to kill you!” The doctor said.

“The pleasure’s all mine!”

“I hope you don’t think you’re taking him anywhere! I have plans for him!”

“Oh, well then I’m all to happy to foil them!”

As some more words were exchanged, Justin was secretly contacting Lance telepathically.

“So, how’s school?” Lance asked Jonathan, trying to keep him occupied.

“Good! That was Justin wasn’t it?!” Jonathan said not falling for Lance’s trick.

“Johnny, you know Justin’s dead. I understand you miss him, but you have to . . .”

“LANCE! I kinda need your help here a little, buddy!” Justin said telepathically.

“Hold that thought!” Lance said, answering Justin. “What’s wrong?”

“Trouble! I need you to move the car for me!” Justin said.

“Um . . . Ok, hold on one minute!”

“Hurry! I don’t have that long!”

“JOSH!” Lance telepathically called.

“No, it is far from over!” Xaina said.

“Well what’s going down?” Joey asked.

“Justin’s in trouble! You must help him!”

“JOSH!” Lance telepathically called.

“What?” Josh asked both to Xaina and Lance.

“Justin’s in trouble, I have to help him! Come in here and take Johnny!”

“Be right there!” Josh said running towards the kitchen.

“I have to what?” Johnny asked as Josh ran into the kitchen.

“Josh, tell him what he has to do!” Lance said running out, towards the control room.

“You have to . . . you have to go home!” Josh said.

“I’m not leaving until I find out what’s going on!” Jonathan said.

“Just as stubborn as your brother!”

“Speaking of my brother, he’s alive isn’t he?”

“N . . . no!”

“Then who did I see on that screen?”

“That was . . .”

“Yeah, just what I thought! And what the hell are you guys? How did Chris just disappear and appear like that? And that guy too! And how did I go from that room to the living room like that? And what’s wrong with Little Justin?!”

“Um . . .”

“Answer me!” Johnny said getting angry.

“First of all, calm down! Second, there are some things that are going on, that you don’t understand! And trust me, it’s best for you that you don’t! Which is why you are going home, NOW!”

“I’m not leaving Josh!”

“Yes you are!”

“No I’m not! I’m not a little kid anymore! I deserved to be treated like an adult, and I deserve some answers!”

“Well I’m sorry, but I can’t give you those answers!”

“Fine! I’m sure one of the others would be more than happy to!” He said getting up and walking towards the living room.

“You are not going anywhere but home!” Josh said grabbing him by the back of the shirt.

“Let me go Josh!”

“Nope! You wanna be treated like an adult? Fine! This is how we treat meddlesome adults that shouldn’t be sticking their noses where they don’t belong!”

Jonathan’s shirt ripped and he ran through the doors leading to the living room. He ran down the hall and just as he reached the doors and was about to open them, Josh grabbed him.

“LET ME GO!!” He yelled breaking Josh’s grasp and pushing himself through the doors.

“Ok, I’m here! What do you need me to do?!” Lance said sitting in front of the monitor in the control room.

“I need for you to start the car quietly and run these dead motha fuckers over!” Justin said still telepathically.

“What car are you in again?”

“The 57 Jag convertible.”

“The black one?”

“Yeah!”

“Ok, let me establish a visual. CIDS, activate windshield cam in Justin’s car!”

“Windshield cam, activated.”

“Ok, they’re all in front of the car. I’m gonna de-cloak the car so you can jump in!”

“Just do it!” Justin replied.

“You’re not taking him! You’ll have to get through us first!” The chick vamp from the hover-bike said.

“No problem!” Justin said.

“What are you doing?!” Leo asked.

“Don’t worry, grab my arm, and get ready!” Justin whispered.

“Ready for what?!”

“Ok, get ready! Here she comes!” Lance said.

“HURRY!”

“NOW!”

“Come on! Jump!” Justin yelled, jumping up as the car ran the group of vamps in front over and made its way towards Justin. While in the air, Justin did a flip so he could land face forward in the car seat. Leo was just in the air and had no idea what was going on. As they both landed, Justin facing forward, and Leo slumped over the passenger seat, Justin grabbed Leo by the leg and yelled, “GO!”

Lance started driving the car from the control room, the screen looked like a real life racing game. As he turned the car around, he saw some vampires getting up and jumping out of the way of the car. He could’ve sworn he recognized one of them, but quickly dismissed the thought and concentrated on the driving. Once the car sped out of there, and Justin and Leo were situated the right way in the car, Lance said,

“You guys ok?!” His voice called through the speakers of the car.

“Yeah! I’m good!” Justin said, “What about you?” he asked Leo.

“Y . . . yeah, I . . . I think so!” He stuttered.

“Maybe now you’ll think twice before you think of running off and thinking you can take care of yourself!” Lance said.

“Yeah, and trust me, that was nothing compared to the assholes we’re up against!”

“Turn on your vid-link!” Lance said.

“No! Not with him there!”

“He’s upstairs with Josh! Don’t worry!”

“Don’t worry?! My little brother, who thinks I’m dead, is in the house and I’m on my way back there! He’s already seen me, and you’re telling me NOT TO WORRY?!?”

“Look, he knows, so there’s no use in trying to hide from him anymore. He’s just as stubborn and persistent as you are, so no matter how much we try to tell him that he’s going back home, he’s staying!”

“Well I think Josh can convince him! And until that happens, I’m going to be hiding out in the holding complex!”

“But that bitch tried to kill you!”

“Yeah, well I stand a better chance with her than with my little brother!”

“Fine . . . just drop Leo off, and put the car back in the garage!” Lance said a little pissed.

“Will do!”

“Bye!”

“Bye!”

The drive back to the Manor was silent. Leo was still scared, he didn’t know how to explain to Dom that he was captured by his dead father. He also wasn’t looking forward to the scolding that he was gonna be getting from the slayers and his team.

Jonathan fell into the living room and saw a transparent green form that looked like a person seemingly coming out of Little Justin.

“What the . . .?!” He said, getting the attention of everyone in room.

“Get him out of here!” Chris yelled.

“Fuck!” Josh said running in after him.

“What the hell is going on here?!”

“Get him out . . .” Chris began but was cut off by Xaina.

“No, bring him to me!” She said. Josh helped him up and escorted him to Xaina. “Do you really want to know what is going on?”

“Yeah!” He said brushing himself off.

“Are you sure? Once you find out, there is no turning back. This knowledge might not be all that you want to hear!”

“I don’t care! I wanna know what’s going on!”

“So be it!”

“No! Don’t!” Josh said.

“It is his choice!”

“NO! Don’t do it! We made a pact a long time ago that we wouldn’t get our families involved!”

“It is too late! It is beyond your control! You should have learned by now that this was no coincidence! This has been in his path for quite some time now! You have no say in this!”

“The hell I don’t!”

“Josh, she’s right . . .” Chris said.

“What?!”

“She’s right. You should know by now that certain things will happen whether we like it or not! Not because we don’t want them to, but because they have to! I never wanted my son to be involved in this, but by bringing him here, I’ve subjected him to an incredible danger. At least with Xaina inside of him, he’ll be protected. The same thing with Jonathan. He came here for a reason, this was his path and all he can do is follow it! You know I’m the first one to curse this fate crap, but I’ve finally learned that you can’t fight it. Something I’ve been doing for a long time. The only thing you can do is let it happen and fulfill your destiny! Everything happens for a reason, and in the end, it will either benefit us or pose a threat. Either way, we can’t stop it from happening.”

“I’ll ask you one more time.” Xaina said, “Do you want the answers to all of your questions? Choose wisely, there is no turning back once you receive this knowledge. You may not like some of what you are going to find out.”

“Yes! I want to know! I’ve always wanted to know!” Jonathan replied.

“Well then, take my hands!”

“But . . . they’re not there!”

“You see them don’t you?”

“Yeah . . .”

“Then they are there!”

“But . . .”

“First lesson, nothing is ever what it appears! There is always something deeper.”

“Ok . . .”

“Take my hands!”

“Ok . . .” He reached out and grabbed her hands. Josh swallowed hard, and turned and faced away from them

“Now close your eyes.”

“Ok . . .”

“Last chance to back out.”

“No! Show me!”

“So be it! Knowledge of light, knowledge of dark, fill his sight, make your mark. Knowledge is power, ignorance is bliss. No longer blind, let wisdom equal protection, let all the secrets be safe within. By the power of the fight, I give you true sight!”

As she finished those words, a light surrounded Jonathan’s body and as it faded, he lost his balance and almost fell to the floor, but was caught by Josh. As Josh caught him, he felt a little light headed and lost his balance. Joey and Beryl caught him before he fell with Jonathan in his arms.
