Now, without further ado, Chapter 18
Last Time . . .
“Well, look sweety, I have to go. I will talk to you later.”
“Wait! What’s your new number so I can call you.”
“Oh, 555-3658.” And as she finished the sentence Justin hung up the phone and he could here John’s voice say.
“That’s Lan . . .”
Justin quickly ran out and down the hall where he was screaming for Josh or Lance like a frantic little boy. Josh quickly jumped up from the computer and ran out into the hall where he saw Justin running full sprint down the hall towards him.
“Josh, Josh! She gave him the number, and he is going to be calling back like anytime and I need you to answer it and . . .”
“Huh? I missed you Curly.”
Justin got frustrated and yelled,
“Jonathan is calling!”
Then the phone rang and Lance picked it up in the Library.
This Time . . .
“Hello?” Lance said, and both Justin and Josh ran into the room.
“Hey Lance, it’s Jonathan. My friend Buffy gave me this number to call and talk to her. I was just wondering why.” Jonathan said confusedly.
“Buffy? Can’t say that I know her.” Lance said shocked.
Justin did a complete circle as he waited for Lance to hang up.
“Oh, well, then. Can I talk to Josh? I haven’t got to talk to him in a while.”
Lance handed Josh the phone.
“Hey Johnny.” Josh said looking awkwardly at Justin.
“Okay cut the bullshit. Lance can’t lie so I don’t know why you gave him the phone. Now what’s up?”
“Nothing. Why?” Josh asked trying to act it off.
“Okay, something is really weird. For one, Joey hasn’t been seen, Chris and Justin have turned up missing.”
“Huh . . .” Josh said as if trying to think.
“Okay! That’s it. Either you tell me what’s going on, or I’m coming up there.”
“NO! I mean, no, you don’t have the money to do that.”
“Okay, Josh can I borrow 6,000 dollars?”
“Sure. But you ain’t coming here.”
“Oh, you haven’t been able to say no to me since I was a little kid.”
“So.” Josh said with a smile.
“Okay, fine, I will just call Joey’s cell number.”
Josh covered the
mouth peace and said,
“Find Joey now!”
Joey was walking around his room, when he heard his cell phone start to ring and right as he said hello Justin came charging into the room and yelled,
“DON’T . . . Never mind just talk.”
“Joey!” Jonathan said as Joey picked up the phone.
“Who the hell is this.”
“Johnny! Or did you forget me already?”
Joey quickly looked at Justin and without thinking said.
“OH!”
“Oh what?” Johnny said confusedly.
“Oh . . . It you! So what’s up?”
“Oh, just talking to Josh on the normal phone and you on my cell. You know something
that I find very funny Joe?”
“What’s that John.”
“That your voice is echoing Josh’s. Now why is that?”
“Solar Flares?” Joey said trying to come up with a to explain the echo of the huge house.
“Oh, well there is one of those going on. Hey Joey, I have a big favor to ask you.”
“Shoot kid.” Joey said as he saw Justin jumping around like a little kid.
“Can, you loan me 6,000 dollars so I can buy this awesome car! I swear I will pay you back!”
“Sure. Just remember, that I’m rich, and you don’t have to pay me back right away.”
“Thanks Joey.”
“Bye kid.”
Joey hung up the phone and Justin nearly screamed.
“That was way too close!”
“Tell me about it,” then Joey picked up his cell phone and pushed the speed dial.
“Hey, Brock. Can you transfer 6,000 dollars to Jonathan Timberlake’s account. Thanks.” Then he hung up, and right as he pressed the end button the phone flew up against the wall and Joey looked at Justin shocked. Justin was panting heavily and looked terrified.
“What!” Joey asked fearfully.
“He’s gonna use that money to fly out here!!” Justin said as he put his hands up through his hair.
“Oh shit!” Joey exclaimed.
“Shit!! Shit!! Shit!! What the fuck am I gonna do?! WHAT AM I GONNA DO?!”
“Just calm down Courage! It won’t be that bad! Come on, can you honestly tell me that you don’t want to see him?”
“Of COURSE I wanna see him! I just don’t want to have to explain to my little brother why I left him!”
“Oh . . .”
“I’m . . . I’m sorry Joe, it’s not your fault! You didn’t know!”
“Sorry . . .”
“Don’t worry about it. Look, I’m gonna go for a walk. Tell Josh that I needed to think, just in case he asks. I’ll see you later!”
“Ok . . .”
Justin walked out of Joey’s room, as he was walking down the hall, he saw Buffy and gave her an angry stare. She was starting to regret what she had done, but didn’t give much thought to it. She knew that they both needed this and in the end, everything would be fine. Justin walked out of the front door and down the massive stare case. He walked around to the garage, and hopped in a 1967, black, convertible Jaguar. As he sped down the long driveway and out the front gate, CIDS informed Josh that Justin had left with the car. Josh then went to Joey and asked,
“Um . . . Joe? Where did Justin go?”
“He had to go think, he went out for a walk.”
“A drive . . .”
“Huh?”
“No, he took one of the cars.”
“Oh . . . You want me to go look for him?”
“Nah, that’s ok.”
“Oh . . . Um . . . Josh?”
“Yeah?”
“Well, you see . . . I didn’t know, so it’s not really my fault. If Justin would’ve told me, I wouldn’t have done it!”
“Joe . . . What happened on the phone?”
“Um . . . Jonathan is flying out here . . .”
“WHAT?!?”
“Um . . . He kinda tricked me into giving him some money.”
“FUCK! Where’s Buffy!?” JC said storming out of the room. He made his way up to the Dream Masters’ floor and saw Buffy sitting by a window, looking out. “What the hell did you do?!”
Everybody turned and looked at Josh in shock.
“What’s wrong?” Vanessa asked.
“I didn’t do anything!” Buffy said in her defense.
“Bullshit! For one thing, you gave Jonathan the number here! And two, you must’ve told him something!”
“I didn’t! I swear!”
“What’s going on here?” Dominic asked.
“Don’t lie to me! What did you tell him!?”
“Nothing! I swear!”
“HEY!” Vanessa yelled, “Would one of you like to tell us what the hell is going on here?”
“Justin’s brother is flying out here, and it’s all her fault!”
“So . . . big deal . . .” Leo said.
“He doesn’t know Justin’s alive!”
“Buffy, what did you say to Justin’s brother?” Dom asked.
“Nothing! Really! The only thing I did was give him the number here!”
“Whatever! I gotta try and stop him from coming here!” Josh said storming out the room, as a breeze brushed across the Dream Masters’ faces.
“Ok, we gotta find out what the HELL is going on here!” Dominic said, “Where’s that file I had?”
“Here!” Sonia said handing him the file.
“I’m gonna wander around!” Leo said getting up to walk out of the room.
“Wait! We gotta find out what’s going on!” Dom said.
“I don’t CARE! I don’t give a shit about their past! Fine, they wanna protect up from some evil bad asses, FINE! But I GOTTA get out of here! I’m gonna go fuckin nuts if I stay cooped up in here!”
“But you have to stay inside!” Shawn said.
“Not if they don’t know I’m gone!”
“Leo, stay here!” Dom said.
“Bye!” He said walking out the door.
“LEO!”
“Let him go! If he wants to get in trouble with Josh, let him!” Vanessa said.
“Ugh . . . now I don’t even wanna read this thing anymore!”
“I can just tell you what happened.” Buffy said.
As Leo wandered around the ground floor, he decided to try and sneak out through the atrium. Thinking he successfully got out without anyone noticing, he went into the woods that hugged the way to the front gate. When he exited the woods, he found himself in front of a 15foot wall. He tried to climb up the wall, using the trees in front of him. After about a 10minute climb, he was on the other side.
Josh was in the control room trying to intercept Jonathan’s purchase of the ticket when, he was interrupted by CIDS.
“Josh, one of the Dream Masters, known as Leo has just left the grounds.”
“What do you mean left the grounds?”
“Transmitting video onto main screen now.” Josh saw the image of Leo climbing up the wall and jumping over. “Awaiting orders.”
“Let him be! I got bigger things to worry about!”
“Are you sure that’s the best thing to do?”
“Yeah! Leave him! If he wants to get killed, let him!”
“Yes sir.”
Lance overheard the order given by Josh and knew that he only said that cause he was stressed out. Lance walked back into the main hallway and said,
“CIDS?”
“Yes Lance?”
“Contact Justin in the Jag and tell him the situation and just to keep an eye on Leo.”
“Over right Josh’s order?”
“Yes!”
“Contacting Justin Timberlake now!” Justin just arrived into town and was stopped at a red light. “Justin Timberlake!” CIDS voice shot from a speaker on the dashboard.
“What? Who was that?”
“I have a message for you from Lance.”
“CIDS?”
“Yes.”
“What is it?”
“The Dream Master known as, Leo, has escaped and is wandering around the roads. It is believed that he might be heading into town. Lance has ordered me to tell you to keep and on the Dream Master known as, Leo.”
“Great! When I just need to get away and be alone, I gotta baby sit some fucking immature teenager who thinks he knows it all!”
“I believe that is correct.”
“What that a joke?”
“I may be a computer, but I was programmed with a sense of humor.”
“Great! A computer that’s a comedian! Well, where is he?”
“Estimated arrival into town at his speed and direction indicates he is approximately 10 feet away from you and closing.”
“Ten feet? That’s impossible! That would mean he’s . . .” Justin said looking behind him, noticing a woman about 20 years of age on a hover-cycle approaching the stop light. On the back of the bike, was Leo holding on to her waist. “Right behind me!”
“Correct!” The light turned green and the hover-bike sped by Justin. “Would you like me to put a tracking device on him?”
“Sure . . . how?”
“Press the cigarette lighter button. It will shoot out a tracking device that he won’t even feel or see on him.”
“Ok . . .” He did as told and said, “Now what?”
“Flip up the dashboard monitor, I will upload the tracking program and all you have to do is follow.”
“Damn! What can’t you do?”
“I can’t dance.”
Justin laughed, shifted into first gear and sped along in pursuit of Leo.
“This bastard better not get into trouble!”
As Justin drove through DC’s nightlife, he saw many things that he wished he could forget, things that were all too reminding of his past. He saw a group of teens on line trying to get tickets to an Aaron Carter concert, which reminded him of the good old days of *NSYNC. He saw some a group of friends on their way to a club, he saw a family walking down the street laughing, he saw a young man of about 19 walking down the street all by himself, seemingly depressed. That was a picture he knew all too well, to which he still found himself in, to this day. He tried to get those memories out of his head and focus on the problem at hand, finding Leo.
“FUCK!” Josh said storming into the living room, startling Chris.
“What’s wrong?” He asked sitting up.
“I couldn’t intercept Jonathan’s ticket purchase! He’s on his way here by express transport!”
“Well how long until he gets here?” Lance said walking in.
“I dunno, he should be here any minute! Depends on how long it takes him to get a ride up here!”
“Well we gotta figure out a way to get rid of him!”
“Why? What’s so bad about him being here? I for one would like to see him!” Chris said.
“So would we, but Justin wouldn’t!” Josh said.
“Oh yeah . . .”
“Well, we gotta think fast!”
“Maybe if we turn out all the lights and pretend like no one’s home, he’ll leave!” Joey said walking in from the kitchen.
“Oh yeah, that’ll work!”
“Yeah, like it always worked when we were hiding out from Britney!” Chris said.
“What’s goin on?” Beryl asked walking in from the library.
“Justin’s brother is on his way here. He’ll be here any minute now.” Lance said.
“Is that who I saw on the monitor from the library outside
the front gates?”
“WHAT?!?” Josh screamed.
“Yeah, he was on his way up the driveway!”
“SHIT!” The guys yelled.
“Ok, I know what to do. Everybody just stay in here! I’ll go get it!” Josh said walking towards the front door.
Justin pulled up along side of what used to be a highway underpass, but had since been deserted since the blizzard of 2005. There were a group of people around, ranging from about 15 to their mid 20’s. It seemed to be a type of gang or something. There were old streetlights, dimly lighting the area in various spots. Although the place smelled like old cars, garbage and urine, there was a familiar smell that permeated through it all. As he parked the car, he made sure nobody noticed him.
“CIDS, does this car have a cloaking device?” He whispered, ducking down in the car.
“Of course, Lance installed one on every car. They all have mostly the same features, some more than others. This particular car can reach a high speed of about 265mph in under 2.3 seconds.”
“Thanks, didn’t need to know all that much, but it’s good to know. Activate the cloaking device.”
“Do you wish to take the wrist control activator?”
“The what?”
“In the glove compartment you will find a control device for the car which is to be worn on your wrist. There is also an ear-piece and microphone for communication with the Manor and myself.”
Justin looked inside and sure enough there it was. It was about two inches wide, but about 2cm thick. He placed it on his wrist and put the ear-piece in his ear and stepped out of the car. As soon as his foot hit the floor, the car disappeared. He checked for his gun that he always carried with him in his hip pocket, he double checked the pouch which held throwing knives, on his forearm that was given to him a long time ago, then patted down his leg to check his stake count. Even though he was not expecting any battle on this night, those were all standard weapons he never went anywhere without. Something he learned when he was only 18; always be prepared for a battle, for you never know when or where one might break out. He crept closer to the gang of seemingly misfit adolescents, undetected. He saw a few of them branched off into couples, one of which consisted of Leo and the girl from the hover-bike. As he got closer, there was no mistaking the smell being omitted from these grounds. They were vampire-feeding grounds. He knew Leo was in danger and that he had to get him out of there. As he stealthily made his way closer, the music that was echoing off the walls of the deserted underpass was turned up louder. He knew that meant they were going to go for the kill now, the music was simply there to drown out any and all screams from their victims. A tall man dressed in all black stepped towards the middle of the underpass, where there was a black circle drawn on the ground. He pulled out a gun and pulled the trigger, the sound of the gun being fired, got the attention of all the victims and was the dinner bell for the vampires. There was a collective hiss and that was when all the victims saw what was going on and attempted to escape. The massive killing scene began and Justin made his move in. He tried to get to Leo first, but saw that he was in a trance by the vampiress on the hover-bike and wasn’t aware of anything that was going on around him. As he ran towards the middle, where the circle was, he was dodging shots being fired from the gun that the vampire clad in all black held. As he dodged the bullets with ease, he moved towards the shoulder of the arm that held the gun. Justin came to an abrupt stop and broke the vampire’s arm, the then grabbed the gun, pulled out a stake and stabbed him in the heart. He placed the gun in his waist, took out a few throwing knives and killed off about 4 of the vampires. Justin turned around and saw that the chick on the hover-bike was gone and so was Leo. As he looked around for Leo, two vampires grabbed him from behind. He put his hands up, engulfed them with flames and burned the two vamps holding him. He saw a couple of vampires getting away and he pulled out his gun from his hip pocket. He set the ammo on the UV pulse ray and fired 4 shots towards the two. As he focused his eyes, his sight zoomed in and saw the two vampires turn to dust, as if he were standing not more than 3 feet in front of them. As he regained his focus to his immediate surroundings, he saw that all the vampires were either dead, or gone. The only thing that was left behind were the bodies of the innocent victims lying on the floor, dead and bloody. He didn’t want to take a chance of them being turned, so he took the gun he grabbed from the vampire, and put each dead, or dying person out of their misery with a bullet to the head and a stake to the heart. After he dropped the gun, he set it on fire and ran back to the car, telling CIDS to de-cloak it and start it up on the way. He jumped in the car and pulled out in the direction the tracking device on Leo showed he was going.
“CIDS, get me Lance!” Justin said as he started in pursuit of Leo.
“Dialing up Lance now!” CIDS said.
“Jonathan! Wow . . . what a surprise! Oh my god! Look at you! You’ve gotten so big since the last time I saw you!” Josh said looking at the splitting image of Justin standing in front of him.
“Ok, I’m here! Told you I’d come! So, now what’s going on?” Jonathan said trying to push his way inside the house, but was being stopped by Josh.
“Well I’m afraid that you came out here all for nothing cause nothing is going on, AND I have to go out of town on business, to which I’m leaving tonight!”
“What?” Jonathan said his face showing signs of hurt.
“Sorry man, I told you not to come!”
“But . . .”
“Lance, there is an emergency message coming through for you from Justin.” CIDS said through the speaker in the living room.
“Patch him through, through my wristband.” Lance said lifting up his sleeve revealing a similar wristband to Justin’s.
“Lance! We got trouble!” Justin said.
“What’s wrong?”
“Leo’s been captured!”
“What?!”
“Yup, by some vamp chick on a hover bike!”
“FUCK!”
“I’m following them now! I’m gonna try and save him, but I need a little help!”
“Ok! Hold on, lemme run to the control room real quick!” Lance said taking off for the control room, followed by Joey, Chris and Beryl.
They ran out of the living room and towards the secret panel in the wall, totally disregarding Jonathan outside.
“Josh! Trouble!” Lance said as he ran downstairs.
“What?” Josh said stepping back inside the house slightly, letting his guard down. Jonathan took advantage of that and used it as his opportunity to get inside.
“HA! I knew it! You guys ARE here! Now what the HELL is going on?!” Jonathan said looking at Joey and Chris, “And who is he?”
“AAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!” A shrill voice came from upstairs.
“JUSTIN!” Chris yelled, teleporting upstairs to his son.
“What the . . . Where the fuck did he go?!”
Josh ran downstairs after lance, who was sitting at the console with Justin on vid-link and a map with a red dot flashing, indicating Leo. Joey and Beryl stood behind upstairs trying to keep Jonathan from going downstairs, but failed. Jonathan ran passed them both and made his way downstairs. As soon as he got to the foot of the stairs, he bumped into Beryl, who teleported down after him.
“How’d you . . .” Jonathan said.
“GET HIM OUT OF HERE!” Josh yelled.
“Come on Lance! Faster! There’s no telling WHAT these assholes are gonna do if they keep Leo!” Justin yelled.
“Who’s that? That sounded like . . .” Jonathan said trying to get passed Beryl. He used his height advantage over Beryl to try and peek at the screen to see who was talking. He saw about half of the person’s face and Beryl froze him. Beryl then turned around and asked,
“What do you want me to do with him?”
“With who?” Justin asked.
“Nobody, don’t worry about that!” Lance said. “He’s going south on Lake, they’re about 50 miles ahead of you, due west!”
“I’ll never make it in time!”
“Yes you will! Which Jag did you take?”
“The black 57.”
“Ok, coming up on your left, there’s an abandoned train station. They haven’t been used since the hover-trains. The tracks should lead you about 3 miles ahead of them if you floor it! You should be there in five minutes!”
“What should I do with him?” Beryl asked again.
“Take him upstairs and put him in the living room! I’ll deal with him later!” Josh said.
When Beryl turned around, Jonathan was gone.
“Where’d he go?”
“What?” Joey asked turning to Beryl.
“He was right here, where’d he go? I froze him!”
“OH MY GOD! JUSTIN!” Jonathan said standing behind Josh and Lance at the console.
“GET HIM THE HELL OUT OF HERE!” Josh yelled, a wind pushing Jonathan back.
“JUSTIN!” Jonathan yelled.
“FUCK!” Justin yelled from the car, then turned out the vid-link.
Beryl waved his hand and transported Jonathan up to the living room, like Josh had ordered.
“Justin? What’s wrong?” Chris said appearing in Little Justin’s room. He saw his son lying on the bed, drenched in sweat and with a glazed look in his eyes. “OH MY GOD!!” He ran over to the bed and sat next to his son. “Justin! JUSTIN! Come on, wake up! What’s wrong? Daddy’s here! JOSH!!!!!!!” Chris yelled.
