Start Over

For Julee

Hangin round the same ol' coffeeshop
Head hangin down from our hangin up
And I don't know where we've gotten to
Why won't you let me know what you think
What we should do

I want you to know I haven't closed
But I've begun to sweep the ugliness off the floor
And you're welcome, you always have been
All you have to do is walk in through the door

Here's an empty chair and an open mind
And attentful ear... you're hand in mine
Let's put the past behind

We were quick to assume the worst of each other
We were in the wrong and a word never uttered
On who was right... was the other really wrong?
Do you agree what's done is done?
How can we move on?

You may not recognize or even hear
Regardless what you think, I am here
I am here...

Here's an empty chair and and open heart
Put it all behind now.. it's a good place to start
No... it's a GREAT place to start
Start over..

Can we start over?
