The Horse Barn

The View From The Barn in 2003

The horse barn is a new (built in 2001) 36' x 36' Morton Building. The three stalls on the back have dutch-doors leading to separate three-board-fenced paddocks. The stalls are all 12' x 12' with removable partitions in one stall to make a foaling stall. Each stall has it's own electrical outlet outside of the door and its own light switch (each stall has an encased light bulb in the back). The barn aisle has two cross tie areas, one with a drain for washing the horses. The upper level of the barn is accessible by stairs in located in the tack room. All stalls can be viewed from above, which will make it extremely helpful when we have mares foaling. The upstairs will serve as an office and has a picture window overlooking one of the three-board-fenced pastures.

The barn shortly after construction - All fences have now been stained black and a bluestone drive has been added to the barn.

The stalls have bluestone flooring and walls that were planed, stained, and coated with a silicone protectant.
