Joker
(British Rules)
In British Rules, a Benny (Joker) is added to the deck, and is the highest trump (beats right and left bowers).

During gameplay, when the turn-up card is the Joker, the dealer must pick a suit for trump without seeing his/her cards.

No choice, dealer must call trump if the joker is the turn-up card.

In British Rules, if your team has the deal and you choose "Assist", the dealer gets the card... but cannot play. In other words, when you choose "Assist" you are really choosing "Assist Alone" and the turn-up card is turned down.

If the turn-up card is ordered up by the opponents, both partners play as usual.
