Do you pray to Mary and/or saints?

The Answer: Yes. Now, I am sure you want more than a simple yes to this question, more like a "why" do we pray to Mary and the saints. First off, it is key to understand that we do NOT pray to them because they can do anything they wish on their own. Take a look at some of the prayers "to" the saints or Mary. You will notice that all they are really asking for is intercession. The words "pray for us" are in practically every prayer, including the "Hail Mary."

My next point is this: What exactly is "prayer?" If you think about, prayer is just like having a conversation. So, in essence, prayer is "spiritual conversation." Now...how often do we ask each other here on Earth for prayers? We, in our earthly conversation, ask for prayers all the time. We intercede for one another. So, why can't one converse with the saints and Mary and ask them to intercede as well? Asking for additional prayers can only help!

I know this is a little bit of a diversion of how I work things, but I just wanted to add this comment. In my personal faith life, I often ask Mary and the saints for prayers, and, as a result, I have had some amazing experiences. Please feel free to ask if you wish to know more; I would be more than happy to share.
