The 46th. IVI re-activated in 1974 as a member of the North - South Skirmish Association. In 1978 commander, Fred Krone took the company to an "Invitational Skirmish", at the "Playboy Club" at Lake Geneva, Wisconsin

46th. Reg't ILL. Vol. Inf.  {Fall-1979}


On veterans day 1979, Commander Fred Krone {deceased} took the company back to Freeport, Ill. This is where the original regiment
mustered in 1862. In downtown Freeport ,the re-activated 46th laid a wreath by the monument and fired a salute to the original members.  Pictured is Henry Hoyman Jr., son of Henry Hoyman an original  member of the 46th. Pictured are Jim Robbins and Phil Thouvenin who are still on the 46th. IVI roster today. This picture was taken at the  Stephenson Co. Historical Society.

Each year you'll find the old 46th. marching down the streets of several citys to honor all veterans. This picture was taken after  a parade in Northbrook Ill.      

46th. Reg't Illinois Volunteer Infantry 2005

Commander Kevin Herrick takes Company "A", "in the field" to the "Wilderness Range", Bristol, Wis. This was a North-South Skirmish Association regional skirmish. This was one of 8-10 the Company will attend  each year. New volunteers are welcomed, come join the "rank & file" of the old 46th.
