Personal Details: At the age of four, Joral Anton's parents escaped with him from the Gallitep Labor Camp in the Dahkur Province. Joral's father joined the Resistance, dying in one of his first reconnaissance actions. At the age of seven, Joral's mother died of malnutrition in a refugee camp on the outskirts of Federation space, and the young Bajoran left the camps to return to Bajor. After wandering for years and going in and out of various jails (mostly on Terok Nor), he finally talked his way into the Resistance's sparse units of Raider squadrons when he was thirteen, and his career as a fighter pilot began. By the end of the Resistance, he had killed seven Cardassian fighters and participated in numerous actions against Cardassian infantry units. After a very brief service with the Bajoran Provisional Militia (nine days), Joral left Bajor and joined Starfleet.

His mentor is a Starfleet Captain by the name of Juan Holmes, a young half- Human, half-Bajoran officer who commands the Midway-class U.S.S. Icarus, a ship Joral once served aboard, and who was Joral's squadron leader during the Dominion War. The two initially met during the Bajoran Resistance in a multi-unit raid against a small Cardassian orbital outpost. It was Holmes who convinced Joral to join Starfleet. Holmes at the time was a third year cadet at the Academy. During their respective careers, the two have served along-side each other numerous times, but while Holmes is considered a rising star in the Fleet, Joral has been largely ignored, renowned by many of his past superiors for his disrespect for authority. He was in Starfleet for three years before finally recieving a promotion, and four more before recieving his second. In both cases, his commanding officers had to push for them. However, his time on Miranda appears to have been well spent - at least in the eyes of Marine command. He was a Captain for fewer than six months prior to his promotion to Major, and thus he is now of an equal grade with most of his contemporaries.

When Major Hammond assumed command of Rogue Squadron, he promoted Major Joral to the position of Executive Officer, and Two Flight Leader. It was in this capacity that Joral currently serves, though the duty has not been without its difficulties. Outside of several training exercises (mostly with Vanguard Squadron of the USS Galaxy), he never once served as squadron XO in a combat role before Major Hammond took an assignment onboard a Breen vessel as a Federation observer. Thus it was that the first combat performed by Rogue Squadron after Joral Anton's promotion found him in command of the squadron against T'Kith'kin and Hydran forces.

After Major Hammond's return, Rogue Squadron was instrumental in the rather constly Battle of Havras, in which six pilots were killed and several others wounded, including Joral himself. Indeed, his entire flight was destroyed, and of the four pilots, Joral was the only survivor.

Several months later, shortly after the Miranda's refit, Joral was among over seven-hundred members of the crew to be transported to various points in Earth's past. In his case, Joral spent three years of his life hiding in the the mid-1860's in the midsts of the American Civil War, and then returned to Miranda only three days after his departure. Upon his return to the present, he was unexpectedly given command of the newly-assigned Wraith Squadron.

Joral was promoted to the rank of Commander, as well as CO of Rogue Group and Rogue Squadron in 2382 following the events of Federation Day that year. He was also awarded the 'Golden Starburst' for his actions that day.

Unfortunately, his tenure as Commander Aerospace Group onboard the Miranda was to be short-lived. After spending several months off-ship at SFFC-HQ on Titan, Joral took Rogue Group on a clandestine mission into Lyran territory aboard the escort carrier Gordon, under the command of Colonel Bartolomé Santiago. After discovering Lyran space to be occupied by the Hydran Sovereignty, the Gordon and Rogue Group were led into a trap, and Commander Joral (along with six other pilots) was pronounced "Missing in Action". There has since been no word of his fate.

Personality Profile: Joral Anton is an extraordinarily private, short-tempered, and bombastic man, with few people he is willing to call "friend", and even fewer who will ascribe the same label to him. He has little respect for authority, and no tolerance for anything he views as incompetance. He is a man who does not trust easily, nor is it simple to gain his respect. He is notoriously loyal, however, and when his respect is gained, he is known to risk his life, career, and sanity for a fellow officer. Holmes has such respect, as does Master Chief Ambrose Emerson, now CMC of the Twelfth Fleet. On the Miranda, Vassili Durgonov, Jaal Jaxom, Taalis Jaxom, Eliathin Jii, Kit Jordan-Eliathin, and the late Gunner Ross all have such respect. When Circidon Yashanti had a mental break-down and was taken to Vulcan for treatment, Joral stood watch outside her cabin daily until she left the ship, leaving only to sleep and eat for no more than two hours. When the Vulcans came to take her for medical treatment, he personally escorted the shuttle all the way to Vulcan.

He was once known a shameless womanizer, known for his success with partners of slightly questionable backgrounds - much like his own. He had a brief recurring physical relationship with Ensign Sophie Saran early in his tour onboard the Miranda, and again with Lieutenant Medea Sinistrari.

The latter relationship turned into rather more than is typical for the Bajoran Major, and actually resulted in Lieutenant Sinistrari moving in with Joral. However, during the rather costly Battle of Havras, Lieutenant Sinistrari was seemingly killed in action, and the effect upon Joral was rather more damaging than any could have predicted.

If possible, he became more isolated than he had been prior to their relationship. He rarely spoke, and the wit he possessed was kept quiet. Though he had begun to show signs of leadership initiative, he rarely exhibited it anymore. His command style was impatient, vicious, and notoriously incompassionate. He was beginning to show a reckless disregard for his own personal safety which had begun to worry both is companions and superiors alike.

However, his three years in the past seem to have aclimated him to the loss of Medea, and he has returned to his previous wit and loyalty. However, he seems to try to avoid all personal relations with women now. He seems nervous in his command, and withdrawn. He has no close friends on the ship, and never socializes with his squadron outside of duty. His is a lonely life.

Special Notes: Joral Anton is not known for having a social life to speak of. He loathes inter-personal contact, and is rarely seen in the social areas of the ship. He is a solitary drinker, and usually drinks alone in his cabin, away from prying eyes. On the rare occasions that he enters the ship's cantina, he sits alone at the same stool, and is left to himself. Aside from certain conjugal liaisons, he does not make friends, at least not in the sense that he socializes off-duty. On at least one occasion, he has started a full-scale brawl in the Miranda's cantina, and is known to have participated in several fights while off the ship. Fighting seems to be the one thing he enjoys, though he always seems to crawl back into a whiskey bottle afterwards. It is rumored that he nurses a guilty conscience.

Much of his off-duty time is spent in the fighter bay, kitbashing his fighter; in the holodeck, training; or in a specific rarely-used Jefferies tube junction, surrounded by computer consoles. While not a brilliant computer mind, he does know how to get into the ship's surveillance systems unnoticed, and has used this to his advantage. It is rumored that the Federation News Service's firing of one Vera Donahue was due to certain activities on this sort by Joral, followed by the assistance of several other unnamed Bajorans within Starfleet. His use of ship's computer is a constant thorn inthe side of the ship's operations department.
