| Personal Details: | Vassili
Durgonov grew up in a small Russian village outside of Elininski (located
in the foothills of the Ural Mountains). A shepherd in the summers, Durgonov,
at the age of fifteen, went off to a technical school in Magnitogorsk
for two years (he subsequently dropped out due to a low grade-point average
and complications with the faculty). Shortly after returning home he served
as a bookkeeper for his brother's failing restaurant. Upon reaching 19
Vassili joined Starfleet as an NCO marine. Growing up as a child in the Ural Mountain foothills Vassili was taught at a young age by his father how to hunt deer, wolves, and foxes. Over time he learnt how to fall these woodland creatures with only one "shot" (he was learnt off of an antique, but albeit fully functional, laser rifle). As such he is a superb and accomplished shot. In all other means of soldering, however, Vassili is painfully average, if not less so. He is physically is weaker than the average marine and academically inferior to most others in Starfleet. Only formal education, outside of the academy, was at a local technical school. Two years after enrolment Vassili dropped out due to poor academic performance. After completing basic training, the only thing that distinguished Vassili from his classmates was his skills with a rifle at long range, coupled with his extraordinary talents at remaining hidden. However, this was enough to prevent him from being shunted into some mediocre infantry unit. Instead, he was shipped off to Wolf Station for training in the Starfleet Ranger program, and then off to the starship Miranda. Shortly before the Miranda's Ranger team merged with the Starfleet Hazard program, Vassili was promoted to warrant officer, for reasons that remain unclear, at least to him. Always uncomfortable with the title of officer, he eventually managed to regain his enlisted status when he transferred to Miranda's security department in mid-2380. Though his opportunities to work as a sniper and tracker were limited in security, he thought that it was an over-all better place for him to utilize his talents. Of course, the words of his former commanding officer, Major Joral, turned out to be prophetic, and Vassili soon found himself dreadfully bored by it all. Among the over seven-hundred personnel from the Miranda transported through time in late 2381, Durgonov spent six months in Earth's Second World War, before returning to Miranda and immediately requesting a transfer to the newly-assigned 101st Marine Battallion. This was granted to him, along with a promotion to Staff Sergeant. |

| Personality Profile: | Vassili is shy and humble, often preferring
not to speak about his accomplishments or his uncanny skill with scoped
weaponry. Around the opposite sex (outside of a working environment) he
fumbles his words. Durgonov is a man who prefers to have many acquaintances
but few actual friends. Due to the location of his birth Vassili is a member of one of the few human cultures to retain an active religious identification. Though he does not force his beliefs on his fellow comrades, Durgonov is a staunch Eastern Orthodox Christian. Around his neck he wears the tell-tale small gold "Pendant" of his people affixed to a golden chain. Generally this religious ornament is tucked under his shirt when in public/social/working situations. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Special Notes: | When not on duty Vassili can often be found in a holo-deck listening intently to a symphony or opera. He is a man of poor temperament when it comes to those who do not share his musical sentiment. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
