I was born in a small town in the North Island of New Zealand on a beautiful sun swept day in October, a whooping 8lb 110z, to the gaily chirpings of those garden sparrows you want to shoot. As my mother informs me, I was born right before dinner, which I spoilt for her.
Funny how now I am always fashionably early for dinner when we go out to visit relatives, I think my strategic arrival into this world set president for my punctuality.
I am somewhat a middle child I have an elder sister and brother, and a younger sister and brother.
I am the mother of two very boisterous boys. They are my world and my heart.
I love New Zealand and unlike friends and family I will not be flying across the Tasman to set up shop.  I dont care how much better the hourly rate is for killing snakes.

I aspire to: say , do , and be more.

The brown symbol at the top of my webpages.

It is my manaia.

In Maori Mythology a manaia is; Spiritual Guardian, Provider, Protector over the air, waters and land.
The manaia is a supernatural being, a guardian, to ward of danger, to frighten away intruders. The manaia is a bird-like figure, a spiritual and mythical creature.
Some manaia were grotesque bird-like figures, others were almost human, but always with fierce facial expressions.
The figures are usually depicted in side profile - part in the spiritual world, part in this.
There are three fingers and three toes or claws on each limb, and the designs are serpentine, producing flowing lines.
The paua shell usually placed in the eyes resembles the beauty that surrounds you, and within oneself to have high self-esteem and awareness of what is happening around you.

The *411* on the hospitable country that my shed is situated on

On the western rim of the South Pacific Ocean, 1900km (1200 miles) east of Australia.

New Zealand is almost on the International Date Line. New Zealand is located on the boundary of two tectonic plates, the Indian-Australian plate and the Pacific plate.
The Pacific plate is moving to the west and is being forced under the Indian-Australian plate. The result is high mountains with spectacular scenery and great skiing active geology with geysers, geothermal (hot, very, very hot) springs and boiling mud pools. Good for tourists and superb for chemistry, geochemistry and geophysics.
New Zealand is an independent state in the South Pacific, made up of two main islands and numerous smaller ones. Its indigenous name is Aotearoa. It has a population of around 3 million, a rich and diverse cultural heritage, and plenty of spectacular scenery. New Zealand has long been at the forefront of technological innovation. This is especially so in the sciences of agriculture, horticulture, forestry, marine biology, (Some of which I have studied and have got me nothing but overdue library charges). However, New Zealand also has one of the most advanced telecommunications networks in the world, the largest number of internet users per head of population in the world, (Although I do believe that we have the shittiest dial-up ISP in the world).

Wellington city (The capital city of New Zealand), is located on the flat land on the western shore of Port Nicholson at the southern tip of the North Island

New Zealand has been widely hailed as an outstanding place to make film and television productions. There are many reasons for this, including the huge variety of locations in a small area, a favourable exchange rate, and abundance of local talent and technical expertise.

QUOTES

"the economic cartel that developed based on race. It's an economic and political cartel that continues today, and dismantling that, deconstructing that cartel is something that I believe concerns all New Zealanders. It's about the Maorification of New Zealand. It's about Pakeha becoming more Maori and not about Maori becoming any more Pakeha" Donna Awatere-Huata
