| A small band of Orcs appeared just below the ridge when the travelers stopped. Unfortunately two days had sluggishly twiddled by while two Hobbits, an elf, and a wizard had ridden toward their destination. The enormous, rough and jagged-topped mountains had towered on their left as a cool breeze had blown past them. Everything had become calm. A group of Orcs and men had marched out from a black fortress with thundering feet. Although the travelers had hid among the bushes and brush, they hoped that they would not be found. The evil black wave of guards, who left the stronghold, made their way just below the hill. The elf and the wizard with the two hobbits fought desperately against the Orcs; our heroes sighted victory. Tragically, the travelers had been caught in an ambush when a few Orcs had approached from behind. Clanging, swinging, and slaying with their swords, the four had killed their hideous enemies. An Orc had blown his trumpet which had alarmed the small army that had almost arrived. The filthy, fearless, and fighting creatures had come upon them. When Letmer, the elf, had swung his sword at his foes head, it had fallen to the ground. The strength of the group had frightened the steel cold devils out into the road. The Hobbits fought boldly; the victory appeared. The swift rigid needle had imbedded itself in the flesh of an elephant. Reln, they have an elephant! Letmer had yelled to the wizard. The enormous, gray and angry beast had started to stride toward the four. With his head bowed the elephant had begun to charge angrily. But Letmer had shot the elephant driver and had climbed up the creatures trunk while the Hobbits had dodged between its legs. Carefully, Letmer had steered the beast into an elephant next to the steep cliff. When he had hopped off, the two creatures collided in immense frustration. Letmer aimed his arrow at the elephants fleshy foot which caused them to fall off the cliff and into the raging river below. When the elephants fell in, the Orcs trapped the hobbits on the bridge. Porto, who was one of the hobbits, remembered that the evil ring he possessed must be destroyed in the river. Unfortunately, the evil guards had blocked their escape route. Sweat had slowly dropped from Portos forehead when he envisioned the power he had held if he had kept the ring. Porto, destroy it now! shouted Pip, the other hobbit. Porto had flung the evil ring over the short, rough, and thick bridge wall, down into the depths below. Surprisingly, it had fallen with a tremendous splash as if a gigantic boulder had crashed in. After the raging river destroyed the ring, Porto and Pip stood trapped atop the bridge. Pip and Porto disappeared behind the strong gates. Although the hobbits had struggled, the guards ensnared them and had quickly marched to the gates of the black fortress. Letmer and Reln had been fighting, hitting and killing Orcs when they had seen the two seized. After the elf had stabbed his hideous looking enemy, he had made his way toward the bridge. Letmers arrow had zoomed across the bridge which feasted on an Orc close to Porto. But, the efforts of Reln and Letmer had not freed their friends. The enormous iron gates of the fortress had opened before the prisoners had drawn near. When the elf and the wizard had gazed across the bridge, their friends had fiercely struggled with the guards. The impeding weapons availed not. Orcs marched beyond the gates. The fearful captives now vanished! |
