Terra Cotta Bird Feeder

This is a great way to use some of those terra cotta pots that we all seem to have. They make great gifts and wonderful decorations.

Supplies Needed

3-4 Graduated Sizes Terra-Cotta Pots

1 Terra-Cotta Saucer of desired size

Silicone Glue or a sturdy glue ( I used Goop)

Primer (Gesso, Kilz etc)

Sealer

Acrylic Paint (desired colors)

Paint Brushes

Stencils (if desired)

Sponges (if desired)

Directions

Invert your pots so that the largest is on the bottom and the smallest is on the top upside down. Place the size saucer you want on top of the small pot to make sure it is pleasing to you .

Soak the pots and saucer for at least 3 days in water

When ready to paint, paint all of the pots and saucer with the primer. Let Dry.

To glue together invert and place glue around the inside rim of the the pots that go on top, place on the bottom pot. Glue saucer on the top pot.

Now you are ready to paint it any way you like

When paint is dry. Spray with a couple coats of sealer

Suggestions

Just remember you can make these as big or as small as you like. And their are many more uses for it other than a bird feeder. It can make a great center piece on a table if you make a small one, a table with the larger one the list goes on and on .. Use your creativity and imagination!!!!!

The following are pictures of two of the ones I own. The first was done by my mom and the second is the one I did.
