I went through 16+ years of Catholic school, from 1st grade to graduate school. 2 good things came out of it: I met my wife while in college, and I turned into a cynical bastard.
Since I am a native, I follow the teams of New York. For basketball, there are the New York Knicks. They stink right now, but did win a few championships in the 1970's. My favorite hockey team is another loser, the New York Islanders. At least in baseball, my favorite sport, there are the New York Yankees (26 World Series rings) and the New York Mets (only 2 rings, but I love them anyway) Football has the Giants, who won the Super Bowl three times, most recently in 2008.
Being a native, we did not have a car when I was young, and used the buses and subway trains to go anyway. Even though I don't live in the City anymore, I still love subway trains (along with baseball).
There are a few things that really piss me off, one of them being blowhards who wave the flag but never served in the armed forced. We call them chicken hawks or yellow elephants. Politicians also piss me off to no end.
In the meantime, I have been serving as a member of the fire department in my home town of Islip since 1985. This is a quickie page, since every fireman loves a quickie!
