It took a while but we finally won it!
The U.S. Women's National Soccer Team went off to Portugal and came back with the trophy! The final match was Norway vs. USA (obviously). Norway had defeated China in the semi's, 3-0, which came as a suprise. During the 9th minute of the final, Mia Hamm was brought down in the box, drawing a penalty kick. Once again Brandi Chastain made the kick, placing USA in the lead 1-0. The rest of the game was scoreless and was pretty even. But in the end our team came out champs like always!

Well the boycott is over! Yeah! The USWNT and the USSF (fed) seem to be cooperating now, which is awesome. The USWNT can now focus on training for the olympics. Their contracts have been renewed and they are making a nice sum of money if you ask me, which is good. Nothing compared to big baseball or football players, nothing even CLOSE to what they make, but at least its a step forward from where they were. Before, they would have to have a part time job, to make ends meet. But now it is all taken care of. SYDNEY HERE WE COME!!! :)
NEW COACH: APRIL HEINRICHS
The USSF has named April Heinrichs, the new head coach of the USWNT. After hearing that coach Tony DiCicco retired. April is a former player. She was on the 1991 team that won the World Cup. The players seem to be happy, so if they are glad shes the coach, thats good enough for me, lol! They seem to get along great. April is very competitive and likes winning which is cool. Go USA!
