Lesson One

Just follow the words.
Strip denotation bare.
Savor their spontaneous flesh.
Let them fall onto the page.
Don't think messages,
just let ink impress
the solitary whiteness,
bone smooth and hard,
with images that come
like multiple orgasms
filling unconscious night.
Don't manipulate sounds.
Don't force metaphor.
Don't press simile.
Play the words as you hear them.
Feel them, need them,
want them, call them,
voice them, write them,
free them.
