Whitfield Teaching/Learning Institute, Co-Facilitator,

At this professional development center for educators, the purpose was
to learn and incorporate new teaching trends designed to focus and stimulate
learning by engaging students while challenging them to participate in
the learning process. Co-created, planned, and facilitated activities
for institute teachers and participants. Mentored classroom teachers.
Collected information for Institute Director. Facilitated participant
observations and meetings. Served as resource person for participants
and classroom teachers. Facilitated two Institutes: Summer 1994, and Summer
1996
Missouri TREK: School Restructuring Team, CoÐFacilitator,
Springfield, Missouri The focus was to
help participating schools analyze their respective strengths and weaknesses,
plan goals to address areas of concern, and to support implementation
programs to reach goals to raise student achievement through improved
teaching practices, community involvement, and student participation.
Additionally, co-facilitators helped to establish networks of support
among participating schools. Co-created, planned, and facilitated activities
for participating schools. Served as a critical friend by asking hard
questions. Visited and observed schools and provided feedback. Reported
on schools' progress. Served as a support person for schools. Facilitated
two schools: July, 1994, through April, 1995
