11 William Henry FOSTER, born abt. 1822 in England; died 25-March-1874 in Beechworth. He married (1) on 02-September-1844 Caroline (PRITCHARD) FOSTER born abt. 1824 in England. They lived in Coventry, Warwickshire, England. They worked as ribbon weavers. Lived at White Friars Lane, Coventry, Warwickshire, England. Part of St Michaels Parish, Warwickshire. After arriving in Australia in 1855 he became a miner. It seems he did quite well at this as he soon after established a butchering business at Madman's Gully. Later he sold the business and leased the Prince of Wales Hotel in High St, Beechworth. Subsequently he purchased the Temple Bar Hotel in Ford St, Beechworth, which he was the owner and landlord of until he died. He left one shilling to his sons Henry and Thomas and one shilling to his daughter Ellen (Helen?). He married (2) in 1869 in Wangaratta Anne Maria (Jones) FOSTER born in Wales.
