1139 George FOSTER, born 3-Dec- 886 in Omeo, Victoria, Australia; died in Sept 20th, 1917 in Somme, Belgium in WWI. He worked as a miner before moving to New Zealand. He joined the New Zealand army, then deserted and went back to Australia and joined the Australian Army. He is buried in the Yres Memorial, Belgium. He married on 12-November-1908 in Paeroa, New Zealand, Lillian Martha (NEALIE) FOSTER, born abt. 1891 in New Plymouth, New Zealand; died in 1971 in New Zealand; daughter of Thomas NEALIE and Mary Isabella NEALIE.
