Most days I just don’t know what to say anymore. There are fiends out there chopping off the heads of Americans for their god, and we have cartoonists who think it’s the height of insight to show the Neocon cabal as port-swilling fat men bothered by baggy pants on insolent teens.
I understand the desire to whistle when passing the graveyard; it’s human nature. I don’t understand climbing down into the hole, crossing your arms on your chest, feeling the first few warm clumps of dirt on your face, and puckering your lips for the first few bars of "Happy Days Are Here Again."
Or "Le Marseillaise."
Lileks.
Bowling was the pits, and we lost all four. At least we got to watch StarShipOne take off (on the TV). I remember the day we saw one of Rutan's planes flying overhead and couldn't figure out what in heck it was. The pilot is a year older than Rich! It gives one hope that we'll see private space travel in our lifetimes, though I doubt we'll be able to afford it. White Knight, the carry plane, looks like a frog! Also, it's the first full day of summer... what an ObGoe day this has been!
New Education Initiative. Heh.
Headlines. It was the same in the Bee.
Ah. Here's one of Kerry's foreign leaders. The man sure takes a lot of vacations!
I know I said I wouldn't, but Heh. I can't help it, I despise him so. It was a little different from "http://althouse.blogspot.com/2004/06/clinton-and-rather-on-60-minutes.html">this interview. Which of course I didn't watch.
[H]e [Clinton] needs to control his use of imagery (and not use words like "swallow" and "stain" to refer to things like his daughter's acceptance of his affair with Lewinsky and the significance of the impeachment struggle).
And yet, I saw Al Franken on the tube today. It was in the bowling alley so I couldn't tell what he was saying.
