Truly you have formed my inmost being;
You knit me in my mother's womb.
I give you thanks that I am fearfully, wonderfully, made.
---Psalm 139: 13-14
Those were the words on Vince's birth announcement. They fit Eric, too. His coloring is a lot like Vince's, though he looks like his Mom.
2900, end of January, not that I'm obsessed or anything.
I forgot to tell about the meteor Rich and I saw last Saturday night as we came home from San Jose. Also about church last week when our retiring pastor complimented me on how I looked, while I was trying to pray. It felt all wrong, and that's just because he's inept with people, nice as he is.
I was really impressed with what Bernadette told me about the hospital where her father-in-law died. Apparently they have a family room for dying.. with couches and a fridge, so it's homey. I like birthing rooms, and now dying rooms. Such a great idea!
And the last thing I forgot to mention was that we remembered to have the camera ready for the Jefferson cow just south of Yreka. This is a big sculpture that gets your attention, for the State of Jefferson (far northern California and southern Oregon, who have many interests in common not shared by their respective state governments.)
I don't think the Pope should be tut-tutting Bush, really. It seems a bit hypocritical after all the scandals of the past years... one day, or several decades, hmmm.
Hugh Hewitt: "On the 60th anniversary of D-Day, voters cannot help but ask what FDR would think of Kerry and Soros, Kennedy and Hillary. Not much, I am certain. Not much at all." Bill Quick comments. I don't want somebody with some furrin accent (not even Ahnold) telling me how to live my life!
Glenn, about the UN: "If this were happening to U.S. forces, it would be frontpage news worldwide, amid invocations of Vietnam and claims that it symbolized America's impotent brutality on the world scene. When it happens to the U.N., though, it hardly even counts as news."
Tim Blair, on the media. Oh, glorp. More.
Steven Denbeste comments. (A short one!) And, finally, Jaysen at Polipundit.
Our first month of the cellphone registered 22 daytime minutes, 39 anytime minutes. So far we're not in any danger, I guess. When Vince was calling Nik, the voice mail Bernadette sent on Tuesday came in. So I've now learned that I have to wait a few minutes when I turn it on to check for messages. The other weird thing is a call that didn't go through to us, and I have no idea who it's from. I'm sure as time goes on and we get used to it, all this will become clear.
Meanwhile, there's a beautiful baby to play with!
