Grandchildren are the crown of old men, and the glory of children is their parentage. -- Proverbs 17:6
Today we went to Novato to have Easter with Roni and family. Of course, the first thing was to get a few caches! Our first stop was in Davis to pick up that one we missed on Wednesday. This one is hanging in a tree and is a camo'd small tube. There's a note from a jumpy CHP guy who says it shouldn't look like a small pipe bomb. I wonder how explosive a mini-bomb like that would be.
On to Novato where the cacher has repaired and replaced his Easter egg hunt along Novato Creek. The first egg is in the same place it was, but egg #2 is no longer in the middle of the poison oak. Each of the four eggs was off the coordinates somewhat, as was the final cache, but the hints helped. We took over an hour on this, and it was a satisfactory find. I left an egg-shaped travel bug. Then we started heading to Roni's and got one called "Yes, We Got Permission!" right outside a dentist's office. Then it was time to go to Roni's.
Alex was asleep when we got there. I logged the finds and then talked for awhile. When the baby woke up I gave her the Wiggles book. At first she was still asleep and really reluctant, but she eventually warmed up and looked at the book again and again.
The in-laws came. They brought us some coated orange peels, and the baby a nice tin truck full of M&Ms. The meal was fun and delicious, but I embarrassed myself by having too much wine, and tipping over my glass on the tablecloth.
And the trip home is a little vague, too. Darn it!
Novato Landmarks. Roni gave me this clipping. I love this house. And as for Frosty Acres, we could have helped paint it in 1976: the guy projected a slide onto the wall and had volunteers paint it. Also, I used to bowl at Nave Lanes in a La Leche League team.
