Yes, honey. I’m happy!
I’d better be. Another day with my wife and child, another day watching the leaves dance in the wind, another day without a cold, another day on the right side of the dirt. It takes a special kind of fool to count that day on the debit side of the register. ---Lileks
Today I took Casey to play miniature golf. Now, isn't THAT bright, give a kid whose been giving me trouble a club! Actually, it went very well. Casey even got a hole in one at one point. (However, the rest of the time it took a LOT of strokes to get in. Both of us. I didn't bother to total the scores, but lemme say, I don't think we're ready for the tour just yet.
Back at the apartment I read a few more chapters of James and the Giant Peach while we waited for mom. I was wondering if the child was following the story (lots of big words, and I wasn't sure whether it was all over the head) but when I reached James's plan which involved a worm, giggles started in the back seat. Casey was having no trouble at all. This is encouraging. I also had brought along some sight words I used with Sam and Casey did well with them. (I keep trying to get Sam's lawyer to call me back so I can get in touch with the family. I'm also dreaming about them. Grrr.) I have hopes this child, who is still behind, will begin to catch up academically.
Father Greeley on the media and the Church, including the Practice.
From a newsletter I get: "Chuck, I think it's time for the Democrats to change their mascot from the donkey to the dinosaur." - News & Views reader Tom Gadd. NOOOOOO! Don't do that!
Mitch Berg is not a great fan of Garrison Keillor.
ObGoe: CSUS makes national news. He really despised the football program anyway. I think this is hilarious.
And, ick, the liability decision in Florida. Couldn't we just cut southern Florida loose from the rest of the country? Acidman comments.
