Sigh. I heard from the Yolo County court, and I hoped it was my permission to pay myself. Nope. They sent back all the forms I'd sent them and said "The Court needs the originals." Nothing is ever simple. The originals went to the companies. Oops. The Probate for Dummies book didn't say anything about that. So my neighbor and I will be making new originals. (I paid off the credit cards, which is what they really want to know. Grumble.)
