| Domestic Violence is the physical and/or emotional abuse by a partner or family member to control the victim. Murder is defined as the unlawful killing of one human being by another. Sexual violence is rape; same sex assault, child sexual abuse, incest, and any other sex act not consented to by each party. Victim Services offers the following services to victims: * Supportive Counseling * Crisis Intervention * Information/Referral * Court Accompaniement * Assistance in filing the WV Crime Compensation Claim * Support for family members * The VIP (Victim Initiative Program) * Assistance with Victim Impact Statements This project was supported by Award No. 99-VA-036 awarded by the Division of Criminal Justice Services with funds from the U.S. Department of Justice, Office for Victims of Crime, Victims of Crime Act. |
