Pot and Society

My reflections on this screwed up policy

Well lets anylize this topic for a moment. It's one of my personal favoites. Pot and society. Whats wrong here? Pot today is just not mixing well with society. It's a shame too, because there are so many people going to jail for just possesing or using pot. I cant see the big deal, why pot is illegal. It was legal before the ol 1937 era. Why not now?  Well the government just doesnt want a society that is slow and apathetic. They need people to fight in their wars for them. They would rather see people die for profit than a society that is at peace and slow. It's a confiscating of our rights is what it is. They say " You use marijuana. Your a criminal" We are'nt hurting anyone, were not even interfering with anyone. We are simply doing it to ourselves. The government has not the right to barge upon our personal doings. Another aspect of the whole thing is alcohol and cigerettes. Together they are 10 times worse than pot. Yet they are legal. And it's all because of religon and it's beliefs (which i'll comment on later). I just can't see why a group of people can say why it's right to illegalize this particular substance. A brief history on it uncovers that through time people didnt need the hemp plant for its strong
fibers anymore, due to the inrtoduction of  nylon. But then afterwards the government said " Hey since it has no more practical use let's get it out of our country before it stupifys our nation" But there was a problem. People were'nt going to go for that. So slowly false accusations of pot were spead around. The local newspapers headlined " Children of New Orleans  Out of Control". The article stated that small children were getting a hold of pot and being caught in a spiral of bad thoughts that caused them to rape, vandalize, steal, and even murder while under the influence. But if you use pot at all in your life, you would know that that is the extreme opposite of what happens. And so, slowly the nation started to fear pot and it was eventually illegalized. To end my essay (although I could go on forever) I would just like to say that people in this society should have the choice to use pot (or any drugs for that matter) if want to or not. If they decide to, than thats up to them and they shouldnt be fined and jailed. It's just wrong!
