What is a Kiwanian?
An individual of good character who adheres to the standards of good conduct in our community.
One who believes in promoting the adoption and application of higher social, business, and professional standards.
A person, who desires to provide, through a club organization, a practical means to form enduring friendships, and to build a better community.

What is Kiwanis?

A worlwide service organization of over 8,300 local clubs and 313,000 Kiwanians in 72 nations or geographic regions. Founded in Detroit, Michigan, in 1915, the original name was "The Benelovent Order of Brothers." Its purpose was the mutual exchange of preferred treatment in professional and business dealings. Within one year the name was changed to KIWANIS, taken from an Indian term meaning "self expression" or "to make oneself known."
Kiwanis entered Canada in 1916, and in 1972 moved into Mexico to initiate international involvement.
The Kiwanis Club of Fort Collins is the oldest of three Kiwanis Clubs in Fort Collins, organized in 1922. The other Kiwanis Clubs are The Kiwanis Eye Openers, and Kiwanis Golden K of Fort Collins.
