The Professor's Riddles

Answering a riddle

As well as by playing games and competeing in adventures to win keys and clues, the team of five challengers are also set riddles to answer by the Professor up in the Watch Tower.

Playing for a Key

Boyard choses a contestant who is then led by Jules up to the Watch Tower. If the contestant is playing for a key, the Professor gives the riddle, and then Jules starts the timer. If they can answer the riddle, they are given the key, and go to join their friends with the other key games. If they are unsuccessful, the Professor throws the key out of the window into the sea, and it is up to another player, also selected by Boyard, to go and swim for it.

Throwing the key out of the window

Sometimes, if the team get their four keys quickly, they are given the chance to win a fifth or even sixth by playing another game. If they happen to win an extra keys, they may take them to the Professor who will exchange them for cannisters each containing an extra clue to the code word.

Playing for a Clue

The riddles which are used when playing for clues take on a different format. Three seperate descriptions of a word are given in the form of a riddle, and the answer to all three is the clue word. There is no penalty for not guessing the word correctly, however obviously it is useful for the team to win as many clues as possible.
