| The reason I call Utena and Anthy's relationship a fairytale romance has alot of meaning to it and a lot of irony. Obviously people think oh well this make sense obviously Utena is the prince and saving the princess, Anthy. Well your only 1/2 right. You could call their love like that of fairytales, but a very twisted one. Fist of all Utena, obviously, is not a boy and most of your princes well they tend to be boys. Anthy is not you typical princess waiting in the tower to be rescued; at one point your not even sure if she wants to be saved! Utena is unable to become Anthy's knight in shining armor and they fail to live happily ever after. Now for the wonderful...nah they're just friends debate , and where ever you moronic homophobs are...do us a favor and shoot yourself in the head, punk. If you watch the series, read the manga, or see the movie you will clearly see that their relationship reaches much deeper than that. Their love,devotion, and understanding of one another extends far beyond that of a mere friendship. Utena and Anthy have a lovers bond that time, distant, nor Akio could break. So in away their love really is that of a fairytales...it never ends. Some day we'll shine...together |
