| Welcome to the Edwin Forrest Elementary School, where parents, teachers and Principal work in partnership to provide our children the best education possible. The Home and School Association is a group of parent/legal guardian volunteers committed to raising monies to support supplemental classroom materials, to offer meetings and/or workshops on topics of interest and importance to parents, to hosting events that bring our families together, and to sponsoring educational activities, assemblies and school spirit events for our students. |
| We also believe in communicating regularly with our families in a variety of ways so families stay informed and connected with Forrest school via our web site, monthly Forrest Focus newsletter, H&S Bulletin Board and Parent Help Desk. Your involvement in your child's education at Forrest truly matters. Students with involved parents are more likely to earn higher grades and test scores, attend school regularly and have better social skills. Involvement comes in many forms such as creating a learning environment at home; volunteering at school; reading all communications sent home from school; monitoring homework assignments; attending parent-teacher conferences and Back to School nights; serving on H&S committees. |
| Forrest school belongs to you!! Parents are partners in their child's education and we have created a welcoming environment for our families. Parents have the right to be heard and your input and opinions are important, valued and necessary to improving the quality of education at our school. Home and School encourages our Forrest families to contact us with questions, suggestions, comments, concerns and volunteer opportunities. |
| Your elected parent leadership is here to help in any way we can. We are parents just like you!! Send in a note to H&S with your child, visit us in the H&S room (Room B1) or just email us at [email protected] if you need to reach us. We will get back to you promptly. Come out to a H&S meeting, a Forrest event such as our annual Forrest Family Night, Skating Parties or other activity. H&S is a great way for everyone to know what is happening at Forrest, to meet other parents, to make new friends, and to make a difference in their child's education. Volunteers are always needed and welcomed. Everyone has a special talent or skill to contribute and we can always put that to use to benefit our children.
