PRETZEL SALE: Beginning early October and every Tuesday during student lunch periods, pretzels will be sold for 35 cents (3 for $1) just outside the Library next to the cafeteria. Pretzels are from the Philly Soft Pretzel Factory on Frankford Avenue. To "change it up" every now and then, we will be having a Snack Sale one Tuesday each month. The next pretzel sale will be on March 10. The next snack sale will be on March 24.

SCHOOL UNIFORM BANK: Donations of "gently used" or new uniforms are very much appreciated for needy Forrest Families. Please drop them off at the school Main Office.

H&S BULLETIN BOARD/HELP DESK: Located outside of the school office. Check it out for Home & School material, student photos from Forrest events, School District information and any other pertinent parent info.

BOX TOPS: Clip General Mills Box Tops and send in with your child. Forrest receives money from General Mills for all Box Tops collected, which in turn is used for classroom materials. CLIP, SAVE and TURN them in at school. Save your Box Tops all year round; as contests will be done at school. Each class will have a BOX TOPS bin in their own room for the contests, so turn them in there to give your class the credit. Contest #4 will begin on May 4.

MANDATORY SCHOOL UNIFORMS: The School District enforces a mandatory school uniform policy for our students. Forrest Uniform requirements: Navy blue pants/skirts (NO JEANS); Red or Navy blue shirts w/ a collar. Pants must have a belt. Shirts cannot be undersized or oversized and should be tucked in. Students in 6th grade must wear Khaki pants with the appropriate Forrest shirt. Gym uniform will consist of the mandatory Forrest School logo shirt and plain Navy Blue sweatpants. Navy Blue shorts can be worn during the months of September, May and June. These are the school's rules and they will be strictly followed this school year.

ROLLER SKATING PARTIES: These parties seem to be the most popular H&S event! They run from 6:30 - 8:30pm at the Roller Palace Skating Center on Roosevelt Blvd. The cost of a ticket is $4.00 if purchased BEFORE the day of the party; otherwise it is $5.00 at the door. Skate rental is not included in the ticket price and costs $3. We also have a bake sale at the Palace, along with a 50/50 drawing. Turnout is great! Come on out and have a good time with the Forrest family. The next skating party of the school year is on May 7. Admission is FREE!

CHERRYDALE FALL & SPRING CATALOG FUNDRAISER: Cherrydale has their fall and spring catalog, along with Cookie Dough and Frozen Food supplements. The past Cherrydale sale was a huge success, eclipsing our goals while having very very few problems. The kids loved the Hummer Limo lunch ride as an incentive and that will be back again in the Fall; with a money wheel. Packets will be sent home with a letter indicating a due date. Parents must send in their collected monies in the envelope provided with their order form. Please adhere to the due dates. We cannot place late orders. Any child who sells at least 12 items gets to attend a H&S hosted party in the Gym on a determined date, with a chance to win prizes and have fun. REMEMBER: do not sell door to door without proper adult supervision. The Fall sale was very successful; thanks to all of our Forrest families. Cherrydale will conclude on March 9. Delivery will be on April 1.

FORREST SPIRIT WEAR: The H&S has started a campaign for Forrest Spirit Wear. Items included are keychains, wristbands, mugs, water bottles, T-shirts and magnets. Check out the Spirit Wear on this site by clicking "Forrest Spirit Wear" link in the left hand column menu. Items are pictured, with their prices. Please consider purchasing an item and help support our school. Spirit Wear will be sold at all Family Night events, Skating Parties and all other events at school.

FAMILY NIGHTS: H&S will present a few Family Nights during the school year. Math Night is always a big success. We learn about our Math curriculum and can play all sorts of Math Games with the staff of Forrest School. Family Entertainment Night, always the last Family Night of the year; usually has a performance followed by Water Ice and Pretzels. Family Science Night is an event in which we learn about Science and experimentation. Many "hands-on" experiments take place at this event. Family Movie Night is a chance for all Forrest families to come together for a night out at the movies without costing a lot of money. Family Game Night was added to the list last school year. We played Deal or No Deal. We had a great time. These events are usually free or at a very low cost. Come on out and have a great time with the Forrest family.

DISCOUNT CARD FUNDRAISER: In May 2008, we introduced the Discount Card fundraiser at Forrest. The card, which costs only $10; has tremendous value. You will save the cost of the card in 3-4 uses. Forrest H&S receives 60% of each card. Please look into buying a card or two from the H&S. It will benefit your child here at Forrest. A new fundraiser in May 2009 will take place for this business discount card once again; however, the card can be purchased at any time. See a H&S representative in Room B1 for more information.
