FMR RACE REPORT - LIAMIST STATES GRAND PRIX

Its been a long road from Tamamara, through Ancient Burtorr, the Joelist Islands, Erroneous Errol Island, Fergustan and Nomattia but finally fans, team principals, pundits and viewers, we've reached the metaphoric pointy end of the season. Its going to be a very cold morning for the Liamist States GP. It'll reach 15 Cs with no wind and slight cloud cover, preventing things from heating up more. Today's race will be held on the streets of Liamist suburb Caterbury, a very elitist area, over 40 laps.

*WORST SETUP: SBT with a defensive driver
There are only four drivers in the running for the drivers championship, Liam & Co racing driver and hometown hero Jos Oxford, Dune Surfing Motor Company's Sandy Duneby, who thankfully has been picked up again next season by the Ancient Speed Demons, ZoomTamamara's Marsie and Team Ferg's Ferga Burga, who may be out of a job next season in Team Ferg doesn't get organised and sign-on. The four teams that each driver drivers for are not the only ones in the running for the constructors championship, with the Erroneous Errol Island teams and Dammit Racing far outside chances.

*The Race
Last Friday, is was obvious that to be the champion of the top four, that driver would have to win this grand prix. And so it has been done. Sandy Duneby of the Dune Surfing Motor Company has somehow thrashed all her opponents and come in some thirty seconds ahead of her nearest rival, a severly disappointed Jos Oxford from Liam & Co Racing. The truly dominating and powerful performance gives Duneby just enough points to get ahead of Oxford and Marsie and snatch the drivers championship. Of course, without Punh Marmington scoring any points today, or at all through the season, and with ZoomTamamara unwisely only running one driver this season, took the extra four points from today and took the constructors title as well. Second, and a hell of a long way behind, was Jos Oxford cruising in front of Sultan Wessoo, who claimed the final podium position if for nothing but personal, team and national pride. Fourth was Marsie who was a mere handful of seconds behind Wessoo but the extra point would have made no difference to the overall championships. Fifth was Ibn the Small with a comfortable cushion over sixth placed and retiring teammate Muhammad the Great.

The Liamist States GP not only saw an Ancient Burtorran crowned champion but saw the biggest pile-up of Tableland FMR. Ferga Burga, Bazza and Pompous Frenchman all suffered the same terrible incident. With absolutely no chances in any championship and with his contract for next season safely signed, Bazza cruised around Caterbury, enjoying the opulent housing and scenery. He always kept off the racing line, not wanting to trip up any serious racers. Unfortunately, Pompous Frenchman, driving as poorly as always, flew out of turn five, disregarding the simple laws of physics that would have told him that a spin was inevitable, and spun out. Bazza came through peacefully, ignoring the stupid Nomattian spinning out, but was caught by the French Marmaduke's small race car-like vehicle. The collision terminally destroyed hardware from both cars and left them and their debris strewn across the entire racetrack. Ferga Burga came through the same turn, looking for points and desperate for the championships, at a great rate of knots and finds the devastating scene in front of him and finds that he cannot brake in time to stop from joining the collision. After crashing and absolutely furious, Burga got out of his vehicle, pulled Frenchman out and started to beat the living crap out of him. Security marshalls and the safety car were deployed shortly after. No one tried to stop Burga from beating Frenchman to death.

6. Muhammad the Great (Ancient Speed Demons) - 1 point
7. Jack Michaelson (Island Racing Settlement)
8. French Maid (Nomattian Knights)
9. Shez Fastest (Dammit Racing)
10. Shellbe Rightmate (Team Ferg)

That concludes the first and last The Tableland FMR Championships. Next season, which will begin in mid January, will be an interregional one, with Tableland drivers challenging those from Ille de France, The Exodus and hopefully one or two more regions. ZoomTamamara, Liam & Co Racing and the Ancient Speed Demons will all be there. The Dune Surfing Motor Company appears to have been absorbed by the Ancient Speed Demons and Liamist Racing will merge with the far more successful LSE Technologies to form Liamist Technologies. Team entries are still open and so are many hosting positions. A FMR tour of the Tableland would provide much needed tourist revenue to many nations. Congratulations to Sandy Duneby, the Dune Surfing Motor Company and Ancient Burtorr. Sandy will be part of a team of six drivers, along with Jos Oxford, Marsie, Ferga Burga, Jack Michaelson and Great Nathan from their respective teams, that will represent The Tableland at the inaugural MarmaCup.
