FMR RACE REPORT - NOMATTIAN GRAND PRIX

A very picturesque day in the Nomattian mountain range today with a clear sunny sky, no wind and temperatures expected to reach a mild 22 degrees. With no spectacular climatic action taking place off the track, we're going to have to look to the drivers to provide today's entertainment.

After the wild weather of the last two GPs, we're looking for the track to dominate people's attention. With so many drivers and teams still in contention for championship honours, the racing could get wild as drivers seek their personal glory.

*The Race
After several promising performances, Marsie of the ZoomTamamara team, finally managed to call a race her own. Dominating pretty much from start to finish in a well prepared vehicle, it was not much of a surprise and a huge disappointment to the homecrowd when Marsie crossed the finish line first. Not too far behind was Sandy Duneby today. Amazingly, the little Australian is still committed to her team after being dumped for next season. Collecting the four points and continuing his amazing points streak, Jos Oxford collected his fourth podium in six races just edging out the final member of the most powerful four drivers in Tableland FMR, Ferga Burga.
The Nomattian spectators had come out in their droves hoping against hope that one of their drivers could make something of themselves today. While the Knights featured highly during the middle of the race, they faded towards the end, unused to being at the front where the real pressure is. While French Maid fell back to eighth and out of the points, the haughty asshole himself, Pompous Frenchman, managed to cross the line in sixth place and score the team's first, and probably last, point of the season. The crowd was wild with adulation at the time and then settled as they realised they were truly favouring mediocrity and, like their team, the crowd faded away into the night.

The results of this race put the drivers and constructors standings in much doubt. At the top of the drivers standings, only four Marmadukes remain in contention for the crown with a single grand prix to go. They are Marsie, Jos Oxford, Ferga Burga and Sandy Duneby. Only three points separate them with Marsie and Oxford tied on 25. The constructors are even tighter with ZoomTamamara, Liam & Co Racing and the Dune Surfing Motor Company all on 25 points with Team Ferg in fourth only two points behind. The Erroneous Errol drivers are out of the running but technically, however unlikely, their teams can still take out the championship. It all comes down to the Liamist States Grand Prix where The Tableland Championships will be decided.
