WEATHER REPORT:
Ah, the penultimate race of the Ille de France FMR Championships. Rio City, Mississippi Rio where the ninth round of the championships will take place. Tomorrow's grand prix will reach the pleasant temperature of 22 Cs (72 Fs) with nothing but the sun to look down on the championship.
*PERFECT SETUP: DAC with an aggressive driver
*WORST SETUP: SBT with a defensive driver
Here today a good half of the field will be advantaged to the max. Other than the two SBT teams, LSE Technologies and the Marma & Papa Duke Trust Fund, everyone should receive some sort of bonus that will aid them in their respective crusades to try to dethrown the all-mighty Fluffy of the dominant Naginii Racing Group.

RACE REPORT 1:
With such fine weather, it is easy to believe that no drivers have crashed out of the grand prix yet. Most of the action that is distracting the spectators here today is on the track. While the Marma & Papa Duke Trust Fund may be disadvantaged but their countryMarmadukes from the Marmadukes of Hazard are currently leading the grand prix. Ben Drinkin, SPer extraordinaire, specifically is in front with a small lead on second place holder Pooder, Fluffy's teammate at the Naginii Racing Group. Third is Liamopolis GP winner, Arch Rival trailing closely on Pooder's tail. Black Jack, a driver we expected much of this season, occupies fifth and many Meadowbankians, after what's been a fairly mediocre season for their corporate team, hope he can at least maintain his position. Sixth is Pon Proteus from the current wooden-spooners Liam & Co Racing, odd after such a successful season in The Tableland. Seventh is that little champion Kik Marmington who is trying desparately to gain a few more points on Fluffy's lead and be able to snatch it from him. Eigth is the yet-to-score-points Luis from the Wilkdonian Rancher Guild, another team who has been fairly mediocre in their FMR exploits. 

At the back of the field is the third placed driver in the drivers championships, Nestle. Many expect the Keetorama small race car-like vehicle to be failing her and most pundits don't expect it to make it across the line. Just in front is Marley from Naginii FMR, a team that has been overshadowed by their countryMarmadukes over at the Naginii Racing Group. And in third last place, Silent Jim, who's steely resolve seems to have vanished for today.

RACE REPORT 2:
With only two races to go, its pretty much do or die time. This seems to be the thinking of the Tastee Badger Treets Racing team as Fish Goti has snatched the lead from a poor driving Flash Jumpstart. Luis from the Wilkdonian Rancher Guild is out to prove, rather belatedly, that he's a serious driver and not just a playMarmaduke. Pon Proteus runs third, trying to get Liam & Co Racing off the bottom of the constructors standings after their Tableland counterparts recently came second overall in both the drivers and constructors. Antoine from the Flying Mosmaniacs runs fourth, trying to perform the same feat as Proteus to get the FM out of the wooden spoon position. Fifth is the Airborne's Aerial Racing driver Mike. Points are all vitally important to the top five drivers today, if for nothing but trying to salvage their pride.

While Flash Jumpstart may feel disappointed after losing his lead in this race, he won't feel as disappointed as Joy Schickt who was the first to disappear out of the Mississippi Rio grand prix. A mysterious hole in space-time appeared in front of Schickt as she accelerated out of turn 3 and she travelled straight through it. No trace could be found of where the Monkeified Marmaduke had disappeared to. Although the next driver, Me-Airborne's Airborne, passed straight through without any harm. Whether Schickt will re-appear is another matter.

RACE REPORT 3:
Flash Jumpstart reappeared in the third sector of the Mississippi Rio GP. The space-time rip re-openned just long enough for the mangled and smoking wreck of Jumpstart to come out again and then re-closed with a massive release of blue light. Beside the fact that Jumpstart had missed part of the race, the small race car-like vehicle was obviously destroyed beyond repair and was undriveable. Drivey McDriver also managed to notch up a DNF in his home GP, disappointing the thousands of fans on the streets of Rio City. The safety car was deployed after Jumpstart reappeared. The cars lined up behind the safety car, as they do, and headed into the tunnel. Warming up his brakes, McDriver tapped them but did it without warning and the drivers in the line behind him were unprepared. Inevitably Pon Proteus, the driver behind McDriver, slammed into him, bashing the tail fin off the Rio Racer. McDriver crashed into the wall of the unlit tunnel and was unfortunately out of the race. We can only guess at really happened though as the cameras don't line up well and there's a large blindspot in the tunnel.

At the front, Liam & Co Racing driver Pon Proteus leads the race with a very slim lead over Antoine of the Flying Mosmaniacs. There's a very comfortable lead between the top two and Nordla Anasad from the Tastee Badger Treets Racing who is in third. Fourth currently runs Milo of Naginii FMR with a half lap lead on Heinz, driver for Keetorama.

RACE REPORT 4:
He was out of the running but not for long and after his teammate disappeared temporarily through a space-time hole but Flash Jumpstart can put it in when it counts. He took out the prestigious 78 laps of the Mississippi Rio GP after some fierce driving and powerful determination got him across the line in first place. Not too far behind came in Rodney from the Screech of Surique who rode the gearbox of Jumpstart to leap up the five places to second, pleased with his result from the race. Third finished Bob from the Wilkdonian Rancher Guild. Bob was in line for second but failed to pay attention on turn 18 and was pipped to the post by Rodney who, armed with slick driving, snaked up the inside of Bob and passed him easily. Pimpy McBling, putting a late season revival, came in fourth and isolated. Milo, from the Naginii FMR, brought in fifth and the nine points rockets the Fanatical Marmaduke up into tenth place.

At the back and for a fourth team this season, the Burtech Racing Team has failed to get both drivers across the line. Brother Ulrik couldn't hold on any longer. The top speed of the BRT vehicle was too much to control, and in an incident that has happened before, Ulrik flew into the Pent of Rio City. The water body swallowed the small race car-like vehicle likea child swallowing candy. Coming into turn 11, Ulrik's vehicle was travelling to fast to turn effectively. As such, he used the barrier as a ramp and flew into the water. FMR HELP teams were a little unprepared but managed to get Ulrik out of the water before he drowned.

Another grand prix, more points and the second last driver to enter the MarmaCup. At the moment, Fluffy still reigns supreme at the head of the driver standings, with Kik Marmington in second, followed by Keetorama's Nestle in third. With one race to go, only six other drivers have a chance at taking the title from Fluffy and one of which, Nordla Anasad, will have to drive one of the fastest wins of the season to take the title. In the constrcutors standings, the Naginii Racing Group also controls the teams, with LSE Technologies in second but third runs the Tastee Badger Treets Racing team. The Mississippi Rio grand prix is well known as a drivers' favourite race and it sure was this FMRTV's favourite. Next week, Paris, the final grand prix of the season where it will all be decided.
