IC: Welcome to the final Ille de France FMR GP of season Spring 2004 here on FMRTV.
IC: (intro sequence that no one pays attention to)
IC: And what a day Paris has turned on for us.
IC: Its extremely windy in the NS City of Lights which ought to keep the temperatures down to around 20 Cs (68 Fs) and the weather still looks fairly fine.
IC: With such heavy favouritism played to the streamlined today, it will be hard to see how the downforce teams will be able to keep pace. We'll find out if they can, after the break.
IC: (ad break)

IC: Not far away from the race start now, so we'll have a quick look at the championships.
IC: Fluffy (Naginii Racing Group) sits atop the drivers with a comfortable lead of 13 points on LSE Tech's Kik Marmington who is two points ahead of Nestle of Keetorama.
IC: Only six drivers have the ability to take the championship from Fluffy. Three of them would have to win today, Nordla Anasad would not only have to win but drive the fastest race of the season.
IC: Constructors and its looks very similar here. Naginii Racing Group is in front, tailed by LSE Technologies but in third is Tastee Badger Treets Racing - all of whom desparately want that gold trophy.
IC: Today's where both championships will be decided. With so few that are able to take the title from Fluffy, one would have to think that the veteran rides favourite.

IC: ...And as Brother Ulrik joins the back of the grid after the parade lap, we are very close to getting underway here in the final race of the Ille de France FMR Championships.
IC: When the lights go green, we are go.
IC: One red light...two...three...four...five...
IC: GREEN! Go! Go! Go!
IC: And what an excellent start by James Pimpanzee. He is eating up those places like they're going out of fashion.
IC: The drivers head down into the first turn in their usually erratic manner. No one seems to have been caught up and they all make it through safely.
IC: (ad break)

IC: ...Gerald Gerner brakes going into the turn...Pimpanzee brakes later...
IC: The fourteen year old slinks up the inside...and yes, he's made it stick, as he roars away down the start straight, finishing the first quarter of the race.

IC: Look at that driving! Its simply perfect. The gap between Pimpanzee and second place holder, Ben Drinkin, is ever increasing with the flawless drive around the circuit from James Pimpanzee.
IC: And we cut to the tussle for fourth place and Mike and Mariah are driving side by side down into the sixth turn and despite the obstacle, its remarkable that they still have managed to maintain their dead heatedness.
IC: ...Ooo, that's a nasty spin. Antoine has been blown out of control by the almost typhonic winds and has spun out in a big way. He should be able to continue on but it looks unlikely as if he'll be in with even a shot at today's points.

IC: ...That's gotta hurt. It seems Antoine did pick up a problem in his previous spin and has lost control again. His stricken car has swung out, blocking the track and Armen Garner has just slammed into his side, carrying the combined wreck a long way down the track.
IC: Sparks fly, debris falls off and vehicles crumple. Both drivers are now out of the GP and both are disappointed at not being able to provide more points for their respective teams.
IC: ...Mike and Mariah are still driving side by side in a remarkable display of skill and neither driver seems able to shake the other. Oh wait! Mariah has swerved deliberately in front of Mike and pushed him onto the grass, giving Mariah the racing line and the lead on Mike.
IC: ...Stewards seem to be reviewing the incident...And its been given the all-clear! Mariah's confidence has also seemingly gone through the roof as she drives her way into third spot. Mike hasn't lost out too badly, dropping to sixth but he surely won't be happy.

IC: Final part of the race of the final grand prix of the first ever Ille de France FMR season and James Pimpanzee, the Meadowbank Boy Racer, has this race firmly in his control. His lead is pretty much insurmountable and this win, added to his third and fourth from earlier this season, should slingshot him right up into drivers championship contention. He could be in line for second place.
IC: And there trailing with a good gap between first and second is Ben Drinkin, another second and this will do his teams no world of good. Gerald Gerner is in third, the best performance of his team in its short time here, bettering teams that have competed in all the races so far. Ineta Mann rolls in fourth, teammate of Ben Drinkin, topping off a really fine performance for the Marma & Papa Duke Trust Fund.
IC: The top four drivers have put in a simply dominant performance, leaving the rest of the field behind. Particularly, Troy Champion and Luis from Liam & Co Racing and the Wilkdonian Rancher Guild (the team recently announced it has been bought by the Wilkengrad Casino) who both failed to finish. Champion's LandVac engine exploded after not being nursed properly and being put under too much strain. Luis' problem derived from a drivetrain failure that meant his vehicle simply stopped going and he had to pull over and out.

IC: As Sophie Superstar crosses the line in last place and a significant way behind second last place, now is the time that we look back on what has been a tumultuous and often cruel season.
IC: 10 races with 10 different winners. Over 1000 points given out over the 2500 km raced with over 40 DNFs. In the end, only one Marmaduke could reign supreme and that Marmaduke was Fluffy of the Naginii Racing Group with a total of 65 points. Fluffy will be crowned drivers champion later this week in a ceremony in Liamopolis.
IC: In second, boosted by today's win, James Pimpanzee of the Meadowbank Boy Racers team, a mere three points behind. Third was wrapped up by Kik Marmington of LSE Technologies and though she scored the same number of points as Ben Drinkin, her win in Rhellis puts her over Drinkin's two seconds. Congratulations to all drivers on their brilliant performances this year.
IC: The constructors and it comes as little surprise to most that the Naginii Racing Group also takes the cake in the constructors championship. Meadowbank Boy Racers also follows into second place. Third though, is not LSE Technologies, its the Marma & Papa Duke Trust Fund, a true investment gold mine it seems. Particularly for the corporation who is rumoured to have bought out the trust fund. Congratulations to all teams for all their hard work this season.
IC: Its indeed been a fine season, filled with much excitement. All eyes now turn to the MarmaCup, the race that will decide the true champions of FMR this season and the sixteen driver line-up has been confirmed. This will take place in some four weeks or so, after FMR gets back from its hiatus. A few weeks after that, we'll do it all again with the FMR Summer 2005 season.
IC: There are a number of teams who competed this season who have not signed on for next season which could lead to next season being significantly easier, especially over at the new site at www.geocities.com/formulamarmaduke. The sponsorship is bigger, the fans are more bloodthirsty and FMR will be inter-regional heading not only to Ille de France, but The Tableland and The Exodus as well. Hope to see you there.
