TEMPERATURE: 22 C WIND: GUSTY OVERAL: SUNNY FMR RACE REPORT 1: On a beautiful 22 degree sunny day in Liamopolis, the first grand prix of the Ille de France FMR season has kicked off (and so has its broadcast). The gusty winds has played havoc with the field order but surprising most is hometown favourite Troy Champion, who's struggling against a poorly setup car and attempting to maintain his third place, one down from his place on the starting grid while his countrymen are floundering in the bottom half of the field. Controversial Marmaduke Charlemagne has obviously crumbled under media pressure, currently in 31st place of a field of forty-three. The current leader, from the Midnight Shadow team of My Imaginary Friend, Arch Rival in car 33, has opened a gap of a few seconds on chaser Nestle from Keet-o-Rama. The first fourteen laps have been exciting and we expect this to continue. The top ten after the one-quarter way mark (14 laps) of the Liamopolis GP: 1. Arch Rival (Midnight Shadow) 2. Nestle (Keetorama) 3. Troy Champion (Liam & Co Racing) 4. Quiet Quinella (Sport Francaise de Moteur) 5. Fish Goti (Taste Badger Treets Racing) 6. Heinz (Keetorama) 7. Joy Schickt (Marmadukes of Hazard) 8. Princess Shirvine (Ardent Antagonists) 9. Nordla Anasad (Tastee Badger Treets Racing) 10. Milo (Naginii FMR) By car number, positions 11 to 43: 26, 16, 39, 9, 25, 42, 30, 10, 6, 44, 4, 7, 21, 19, 34, 5, 43, 22, 8, 31, 15, 36, 29, 3, 17, 37, 38, 18, 27, 1, 35, 45, and last 28. FMR RACE REPORT 2: The second quarter of the Liamopolis GP saw Arch Rival maintain a slim, but diminishing, lead. Keetorama's Nestle fell right off the pace and into 18th spot and a struggling Troy Champion fell back three places, much to the consternation of the home crowd. Liamopoliseans are now relying on the quickly improving Kik Marmington, one half of the champion Marmington sisters, who jumped six places to fifteenth. Surprise packet Silent Jim came from outside of the top ten to nestle in nicely in third spot. The MarmaControversy, Charlemagne, continues to fall off the pace, ending up in fourth last position. The top ten at the halfway mark (28 laps) of the Liamopolis GP: 1. Arch Rival (Midnight Shadow) 2. Fish Goti (Tastee Badger Treets Racing) 3. Silent Jim (Sport Francais de Moteur) 4. Heinz (Keetorama) 5. Joy Schickt (Marmadukes of Hazard) 6. Troy Champion (Liam & Co Racing) 7. Luis (Wilkdonian Rancher Guild) 8. James Pimpanzee (Meadowbank Boy Racers) 9. Flash Jumpstart (Marmadukes of Hazard) 10. Antoine (Flying Mosmaniacs) By car number, positions 11 through to 43: 12, 40, 26, 29, 4, 41, 13, 16, 36, 43, 30, 44, 17, 27, 32, 9, 38, 3, 7, 5, 42, 22, 18, 21, 31, 34, 8, 37, 45, 15, 1, 28 and last 35. FMR RACE REPORT 3: The third quarter is known as the premiereship quarter in some sports. Not FMR with the top half of the field putting in fairly mediocre performances, contrasted by the guts and determination shown by those at the back. The top two remained the same with Arch Rival's aggressiveness just keeping her just ahead Fish Goti that ever so slightly closed the gap. Silent Jim fell back to eighth while James Pimpanzee moved from eighth to third. The Liamopolisean teams have rallied somewhat. Troy Champion fell back another three places while Heinz Spedston and Kik Marmington moved into the places behind him. Good drives from all three could see some serious points gained. Charlemagne is now last of the cars running after Royal Flush from the Meadow Casino House Ltd team had a suspension failure, resulting in the car spinning out of control and flipping several times in the air. Good luck to all teams with the final quarter of the race. The top ten at the three-quarter way mark (42 laps) of the Liamopolis GP: 1. Arch Rival (Midnight Shadow) 2. Fish Goti (Tastee Badger Treets Racing) 3. James Pimpanzee (Meadowbank Boy Racers) 4. Quiet Quinella (Sport Francais de Moteur) 5. Heinz (Keetorama) 6. Antoine (Flying Mosmaniacs) 7. Joy Schickt (Marmadukes of Hazard) 8. Silent Jim (Sport Francais de Moteur) 9. Troy Champion (Liam & Co Racing) 10. Heinz Spedston (LSE Technologies) By car number, positions 11 through to 42: 4, 32, 13, 5, 16, 42, 12, 19, 21, 18, 29, 36, 30, 27, 6, 43, 7, 34, 26, 9, 17, 31, 38, 44, 41, 8, 45, 22, 35, 28, 1 and last 15. OUT: 37 [suspension] FMR RACE REPORT 4: As the dust settles and the rubber on the Liam Raceway weathers away before the next race, we look back on what has been an exciting GP with much overtaking. At the end of it, Arch Rival took victory after taking the lead on the grid with some Renault-like traction control and held it throughout the race. Fish Goti came very close around lap 45 but after pushing too hard, spun out but managed to hold it together to finish second. Silent Jim, French-Australian Marmaduke, managed to pull back his third place, lost in the third sector. James Pimpanzee who was third, put in a pretty poor performance by most standards and managed to maintain fourth position. It is thought that roaring support from the homecrowd managed to get Heinz Spedston from tenth into fifth, with Kik Marmington in his wake into sixth, scoring sixteen points for LSE Technologies. Troy Champion faded another three places, struggling against his car, into twelth. Heinz of Keetorama managed a seventh, the Naginiian Milo pulled eighth and the SP drivers of Ineta Mann and Flash Jumpstart rounding out the top ten. At the other end of the field, Princess Shirvine was eighth at the first sector but did not make it across the line after spinning out on the 1-2-3 chicance on lap 49 and getting stuck in the Marmalitter (that's FMR lingo for gravel). Its also official Charlemagne has lost his fangs after finishing dead last, lapped four times by Arch Rival in what was generally a slow race. The top ten at the conclusion of the Liamopolis GP (56 laps): 1. Arch Rival (Midnight Shadow) - 30 points 2. Fish Goti (Tastee Badger Treets Racing) - 20 points 3. Silent Jim (Sport Francais de Moteur) - 15 points 4. James Pimpanzee (Meadowbank Boy Racers) - 12 points 5. Heinz Spedston (LSE Technologies) - 9 points 6. Kik Marmington (LSE Technologies) - 7 points 7. Heinz (Keetorama) - 5 points 8. Milo (Naginii FMR) - 3 points 9. Ineta Mann (Marma & Papa Duke Trust Fund) - 2 points 10. Flash Jumpstart (Marmadukes of Hazard) - 1 point By car number, positions 11 through to 41: 40, 2, 43, 12, 20, 29, 25, 18, 42, 16, 13, 26, 6, 5, 9, 34, 31, 17, 26, 38, 27, 35, 30, 7, 45, 8, 44, 22, 1, 28 and last 15.
