MAURICE MALPAS

"Maurice Malpas is the joint 13th most capped Scotland player of all time, a position he shares with Denis Law. To put this incredible achievement is some kind of perspective, Maurice has won more caps than Scotland luminaries such as Billy Bremner, Graeme Souness, Joe Jordan, Gordon Strachan and Colin Henry. As a member of the SFA's Hall of Fame Maurice received a gold medal, his portrait is hung at the SFA offices at the National Stadium, Hampden Park and he receives an invitation for life to all Scotland's home matches."

Maurice went to Dundee College of Technology, now Abertay University after leaving school at 17 & won the Scottish Premier League title with Dundee United in 1983. He was 21 & studying for a BSc Honours degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the time! He later graduated with an Honours degree. He also led Dundee United to cup glory at Hampden in 1994, played 828 games for them (inluding a UEFA cup final) & 55 times for Scotland, including two World Cups. He is also an SFA hall of fame member too. It's fairly easy to see why he's in our hall of fame as well!!

DEBORAH KNOX

Debbie Knox was third player and deputy skip in the team which won curling gold at Salt Lake City. She was one of the few members of the British squad to have previous Olympic experience. The Fife-based player competed at Albertville in 1992 when curling was just a demonstration sport. She has played at all levels and won gold medals at the 1992 and 1999 Scottish ladies events. Although listed as alternate, or fifth, in the Olympic programme, the 33-year-old played at third for every game of the Salt Lake City tournament.
